          MT
       • NWCG Coordinator remarks and news and update – Deb:
o As of Monday morning, detailed into NWCG Program Manager job. Jeremy Sullens has taken
another job, so they will be looking for someone to detail behind Deb.
o Exec Board Meeting next week. Annual meeting coming up on 9/10 of Feb. Agenda will come
out next week and Tina will share in case people want to listen in to different topic.
       • Wildland Fire Investigation Subcommittee Report – Jerry:
o Reviewed FI-110. Will be ready for final review and polishing.
o FI-210, PMS 412 revision – hitting a wall between standard and guide. Issue will be discussed at
subcommittee meeting and will bring in court systems. Also, exploring how to blend field
session with a virtual classroom setting.
o Educational pages will be updated.

Promoting a better understanding of wildland fire through communication, education, prevention and outreach.
• PIO Subcommittee Update – Candy:
       o Next call January 28.
o In the final stages of reviewing the page for IRPG revision.
   • FPET Subcommittee Update – Gwen/Fred:
o NFPET got approved. Updated mob guide and sent to NICC.
o FPET brochure – oldest version had an error on a website, and current version had one little
word missing. Cache will go out to storage and see what is out there.
o P-310 is being offered next week in the Southwest. 40 people signed up. It will be virtual. They
are going to limit the attendance to 20 people.
o The Beta course is planned to be held in California.
o P-101 is getting a lot of good participation, meaning more may be interested in taking P-310.
o FPT Leader guide – the fire prevention team made a bunch of edits and has returned it to the
         task force.
   DISCUSSION TOPICS
   • Budget Requests:
       o Finalization of priorities
 See committee ranking on spreadsheet – Column C. Committee agreed with the rankings.
Gwen said USFS will keep outdoor burning brochure translation. We can remove it from our
               list of funding requests.
o Due January 22 to NWCG – Tina will send to Deb. Tina will submit well ahead of deadline.
   • WPSAPS content: Website blurb, video - Sam
o Submitted write up for video and MailChimp to us. Tina revised website language. Deb said we
are good to go. Once that is done, Jesse will adapt the language for MailChimp.
o Once the video gets to NWCG YouTube, it will get pulled off private site, so link Sam sent out
will no longer be active. Deb said by early next week, video should be on NWCG YouTube and
MailChimp can go out towards the end of next week or beginning of the following week
depending on when Nancie can update the website.
o Put “upcoming training” on our main page and take folks to another site. Keeps main page
sleek. Deb asked that Fred wait on doing upcoming trainings link change until after video gets
posted. Action: Fred will stay on top of that change.

Promoting a better understanding of wildland fire through communication, education, prevention and outreach.
• Wildfire Restrictions Website (Gwen):
o Primarily used in USFS regions 1 and 4. Region 6 personnel helped put site together. The public
can go here and see where fire danger is and see what restrictions in place. You normally have
to go to each forests’ websites to see what danger and restrictions are in place. This will direct
         folks to one site only.
o It is meant to be an interagency site. Unfortunately, there are issues where the site is housed.
         Now it isn’t accessible.
o Should we continue to move forward? How and who?
o Kenny said his group is working on putting something together regionally. He will find out more
on a call he has tomorrow.
o Action: Gwen asked Kenny to share with us what he finds out at next meeting, and reach out to
other regions and see if they are doing anything.
   • USFS Brochure Adoption by NWCG (Gwen):
       o Addressed during budget discussion.
o ASIDE: IRPG edits are tight. What goes in, something must go out. Gwen asked if we have an
opportunity to review anything that gets suggested to go in. Deb said it goes to Ops committee,
then Executive Board for approval. PIO Subcommittee should send CEPC their suggested IRPG
change to us for review before they send it in to IRPG. CEPC has oversight for subcommittee
info, but not other committees’ info and their subcommittees.
   • Prevention Education Page on NIFC Website – Sheri demonstrated the new NIFC website.
o Carrie to take lead on any committee input for this site. Carrie will work with Sheri.
o Once this site goes live, there will likely be other input to share and Carrie will take that input as
         well.

         ORGANIZATIONAL UPDATES
To be submitted in writing – can be covered if there is enough time

              BIA (Kenny): No update.
              BLM (Jon): No update.
FWS (Terri): Presentation to FWS Fire Leadership Team on Feb 9th, will cover WPSAPS, with Sam
Scranton. Presentation to White Mountain Fire Leadership Team, along with New Hampshire and
Main State Foresters on FPETs, the recent White Mountain NF deployment, and how prevention
teams can assist their programs, slated for January 27th.
              IAFC (Bruce): No update.
NASF (Fred and Angie): All is quiet on the western front this time around. Last month, I neglected
to get my notes in, and wanted to report that the western states are aware and engaged in changes
to fire cause categories. Also, some states experienced late fall fires, especially Rockies and
California. And, some states are struggling with budget cuts due to unexpected expenditures
              related to COVID.
              NIFC External Affairs (Carrie): The new NIFC website is set to release toward the end of February;
still working on content for Fire Prevention page and PIO pages, so they won’t be complete when
the website rolls out. Working finalizing stats and new talking points for this year.
NOAA (Doug): Recently our High Resolution Rapid Refresh Weather Model's smoke forecast
became operational (was previously experimental): https://www.nesdis.noaa.gov/content/model-
