All about… CliŌon If you’re interested in finding a home in Clifton, this fact sheet gives you lots of information about some of the services that are in the area. What’s it like to live here? Clifton is well served by a range of shops and other amenities. Shopping wise you’ll find independent shops, national chains including a large Morrison’s supermarket a smaller Co-Op supermarket and an Iceland. The majority of these shops are found on Southchurch Drive and Farnborough Road areas of the estate. If you’re after food then you’ve come to the right place. There’s lots of food outlets in the area, including a McDonalds, KFC, fish and chip shops, Chinese take-aways, numerous pizza and chicken outlets, a Greggs and Birds the bakers and numerous independent cafés. Facilities you will find in Clifton include the Post Office, banks, health centres, chemists, dentists, opticians, nurseries, community centres, Clifton Leisure Centre, public parks, various allotments and an outdoor market which is held every Friday and Saturday. There are also a number of public houses across the estate that serve a wide range of food and alcoholic beverages. The Clifton Cornerstone joint service centre on Southchurch Drive has a number of local facilities all under one roof, including the Clifton Housing Office, doctors surgeries, chemists, library and café. As with most large cities there is great pressure on school places and it may not always be possible to get a place at your preferred local school if they are full at time of application.
