 If you’re interested in finding a home in Clifton, this fact sheet gives you lots
 of information about some of the services that are in the area.

 What’s it like to live here?
 Clifton is well served by a range of shops and other amenities. Shopping wise you’ll
 find independent shops, national chains including a large Morrison’s supermarket
 a smaller Co-Op supermarket and an Iceland. The majority of these shops are found
 on Southchurch Drive and Farnborough Road areas of the estate.

 If you’re after food then you’ve come to the right place. There’s lots of food outlets in
 the area, including a McDonalds, KFC, fish and chip shops, Chinese take-aways,
 numerous pizza and chicken outlets, a Greggs and Birds the bakers and numerous
 independent cafés.

 Facilities you will find in Clifton include the Post Office, banks, health centres,
 chemists, dentists, opticians, nurseries, community centres, Clifton Leisure Centre,
 public parks, various allotments and an outdoor market which is held every Friday
 and Saturday. There are also a number of public houses across the estate that serve
 a wide range of food and alcoholic beverages.

 The Clifton Cornerstone joint service centre on Southchurch Drive has a number
 of local facilities all under one roof, including the Clifton Housing Office, doctors
 surgeries, chemists, library and café.

 Primary and Secondary Schools
 Please see the map at the end of this guide which shows all the schools in the area, including catchment
 areas of both primary and secondary schools if they have them. As with most large cities there is great
 pressure on school places and it may not always be possible to get a place at your preferred local school if
 they are full at time of application.

The A453 runs directly through Clifton on its way to
J24a of the M1 and East Midlands Airport.

By tram
The tram runs the length of Clifton, terminating at
Clifton Park and Ride to the south of the area.

By bus
The area is well-served by the following, frequent,

the Nottingham city centre:

Garage sites
We have garages for rent across Nottingham. They cost from as little as £8.80 per week for
council tenants.

If you’d like to rent a garage, contact the Clifton Housing Office on 0115 746 9555, and they’ll tell
you whether they have any empty garages that are ready to be let.

Local Tenants and Residents Associations

Tenants’ and Residents’ Associations (TRAs) are a great way for you to get together with your
neighbours and be part of the local community.

Your local TRAs are:
   • Summerwood Lane Community Garden

   • Clifton Community Family Support Group
   • Lakehead Good Companions Group.
