' ' Fo r m o s a wa s o n ce th e name of Taiwan given by the Portuguese - meaning ''beautiful island''. Each stool acts as an independent island surrounding a central island (th e ta b l e) - ty i n g e a ch e l e m e nt to g eth e r.
