Coronavirus Update
Los Angeles County Department of Public Health announced on Monday,
March 15th that the County has now met the threshold for the “red tier”
assignment according to the state’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy.
• To stay in the red tier, County case rates must be at or below 7 new cases per 100,000
with test positivity rate at or below 8% for two weeks.
• This week, the County’s adjusted case rate is now 4.1 cases per 100,000 people with a
  test positivity rate of 2.0%.
• The state’s structure allows counties to be more restrictive and move more slowly than
the state in reopening if they wish. For example, in the red tier, the state allows retail to
operate at 50% while some counties already in the red tier have chosen to open retail to
  25% capacity.

Athletics – Return to Conditioning
Conversations are currently underway with Athletics to bring
back athletes this spring to resume conditioning through
summer.
• The first steps are to review and update the COVID
Athletics Return to Campus Procedures and develop a
   checklist.
• Next steps will be:
   • Secure a contract with a COVID testing company.
   • Create an MOU for returning to campus with our unions.
   • If all goes according to plan, a tentative return to campus
      date is April 12th, 2021.
       • This date is flexible as we need to accomplish the checklist
to ensure that everyone can return safely.
