From our CEO

Kia ora koutou.
It is with enormous gratitude that I have made the hard decision to step
down from my full-time role with ANCAD.
I have been here now since May 2009 (12 years). It has been an amazing
time and I feel privileged to have worked with such great staff over this
period and with a fabulous supportive Board.
One of the most awesome parts of my time here has been the connection
and relationships I have built with many of you across the community
sector. My intention is to continue with those relationships where I can, in
other new, but smaller roles.
Meanwhile, to all of you that I have spent time with, laughed with and
connected with, in a multiple of ways, it has been my absolute pleasure.
I am excited about the next chapter and I am sure I will stay in touch with
many of you. Of course, I will continue to champion the community sector YVONNE POWLEY
and advocate where I can. CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Ngā mihi

Critical Incident Stress Management Awareness:
Group Crisis Intervention
2 Day Intensive Training

The CISM Group Crisis Intervention training programme presents the core elements of a
comprehensive, systematic and multi-component crisis intervention curriculum. This two-day
course prepares participants to understand a wide range of crisis intervention services
 including:
   • Pre- and post-incident crisis education
   • Crisis intervention for individuals
   • Small group defusing and debriefing
   • Demobilization and crisis management briefings after small & large-scale
        traumatic incidents

This establishes the theoretical basis behind Critical Incident Stress management as
well as the need for appropriate follow-up services and referrals. The course
highlights the difference between internationally- accepted protocols in the area of
post-incident support (and prepares individuals to provide these interventions) and
 therapeutic intervention.

community agencies (Auckland North Community
and Development and East Coast Bays Community
Project) so that we can get better traction and
support for our future projects to transform from
ideas to realities.
Our aims for the two workshops are to:
1. Develop a group of strangers who become more
than neighbours; they become a strengths
based team, connected with appreciation and
     support in a common cause.
2. Have a collection of brainstormed ideas
for developing into initiatives that make a
     difference.
Next steps of initiative development will be
determined collectively after the first two
workshops.
If you can’t make the Think Tank team workshops,
but would like to be part of the initiative(s) we
develop, please email Sally to go on the database
so we can contact you when we are ready to start.

                 Resurgence Support Payment
A Resurgence Support Payment may be activated if the alert level increases from Level 1 for a week or
more. Businesses and organisations will be eligible if they experience a 30% drop in revenue over a 7 day
period after an alert level increase and meet other eligibility criteria. This drop is compared to a typical
7 day period in the 6 weeks before the increase in alert level. The decline in revenue must be a result
of the specific alert level change, not just COVID-19 in general. You must have been in business for at
least 6 months to be eligible. Charities, not-for-profit organisations, the self-employed and pre-revenue
businesses, such as start-ups, may also be eligible.

This payment is not a loan, so does not need to be repaid. The payment must be used to help cover business
expenses such as wages and fixed costs. Applications will remain open for 1 month after the return to Alert
Level 1. The current round of applications will close on 23 March 2021.

You can apply through myIR.
