EXPERIENCE ...North West Regional College 7Essential Skills
FREE Literacy & Numeracy courses
The ability to read, write and count are essential skills for everyday living and for work.
Achieving the Essential Skills qualification in Literacy and Numeracy is the first steps to
gaining a GCSE qualification.
Courses range from Entry Level to Level 1 and Level 2, so there is a course to suit everyone.
Before the course begins, the tutors who are experienced in working with adults will identify
the level that best meets your needs. This will enable you to start at an appropriate level and
pace, build skills and progress towards your full potential.
Students undertake a range of interesting practical activities on every day topics, for example
health, customer care, shopping or buying a car. Courses lead to nationally recognised
qualifications. These courses are FREE and offered at a number of locations throughout the
North West.
There may be occasions when the College will be unable to run some courses due to an
insufficient number of enrolled students. Therefore students may be referred to another
course option which is available at an alternative venue.

I enjoyed my course so much that I
went onto the Level 2 Certificate. At
First I was worried if I was capable
OF the workload involved as I have
3 young children, but the help and
support I received from my classmates
and tutor has been first class!
