see it, but it’s usually overlooked.
However, these curbstones are vital to

floor and podium level parking areas

             Why was this done?

             Keep your balcony
             fire safe
You wouldn’t leave your home unlocked
             at night.

You wouldn’t let your children play with fire.

You wouldn’t jump into oncoming traffic.

Because it’s dangerous. So, should you
throw your cigarette butts from the
             balcony?

             • Hurling lit cigarette butts from
balconies is a serious fire hazard.

             • Light-up only if you have an ashtray.

             • Remember, the Dubai Municipality has
stringent laws against this practice and
violators could be fined up to AED 50,000.

             • Matches must be extinguished and
               disposed of safely.

             • Planter pots are not a substitute for
ashtrays, they can easily catch fire.

             • Fires originating from the building
               exterior are more dangerous than
internal fires as they take more time to
               trigger the fire alarm.

The residents trust me as their lifeguard and it is my duty
to ensure their maximum safety
Service providers are the pillars of a thriving community. With a
harmonized team working round-the-clock, from cleaners,
gardeners, security to electricians, plumbers, pest control staff,
like cogs in a well-oiled machine to serve a common goal –
resident satisfaction. But every once in a while, a team member
elevates his esteem in the community.

Hailing from a small village in Bangladesh, Azad Hossain came
to Dubai with hopes of providing a better life for his family back
home. A trained lifeguard, the 43-year old is extremely
passionate about his job. “I wanted to be a lifeguard because of
my passion to save lives,” he says. Little did he know this
passion would be soon put to the test.

Even with the unforgiving June sun blazing down, Azad
maintains his post and never loses focus. Which is why he was
able to notice the tiny limbs flailing in the pool – a young child
was struggling. He rushed to the scene and while her stricken mother looked on helplessly, Azad kept his
cool and pulled the child to safety. Because of his quick action, the eight-year-old girl was unharmed and
returned to her grateful mother. Hailed as a hero, he modestly says, “I always pay attention, especially
when children use the pool. The residents trust me as their lifeguard and it is my duty to ensure their
maximum safety.”

Your community thanks you, Azad!
