OBERMEYER has the reputation of being an excellent building and construction planner for more than 60 years now.
The late Dr. Leonhard Obermeyer founded the company in 1958 as a one-man engineering consultancy in Krailling near
Munich. Over the decades he expanded it into a corporate group with subsidiaries in Germany and abroad and more than
1,400 employees worldwide.
The portfolio spans wide: The architects and engineers at OBERMEYER design buildings, roads, railways, bridges and
tunnels, including the technical infrastructure for supply and disposal. With specialists in other disciplines, the company with
its two business units BUILDING PLANNING and INFRASTRUCTURE offers its clients the complete range of construction
planning services as a one-stop shop – a service which hardly any other planning company in Germany can offer on this scale.

OVERALL PLANNING The growing complexity of contemporary construction tasks challenges the industry, but above all the building owners. Many different planners, and their services, have to be coordinated. We have therefore identified overall planning as the core element of our corporate strategy. With various specialist depart- ments in-house OBERMEYER offers clients not only planning services for indi- vidual trades, but overall planning from the initial study through to completion from a single source. The planning is put into effect by using state-of-the-art technical methods such as BIM and GIS (geoinformatics). The portfolio of BUILDING PLANNING extends from urban development to the project planning of buildings. In collaboration with our engineers, our architects bring together all aspects of the structural and building services engineering in one comprehensive model. Special requirements such as e. g. noise protection, building physics or energy efficiency measures are also incorporated into the design. Our INFRASTRUCTURE engineers prepare integrated traffic concepts for track- based transport systems and roads, also including the construction of requisite engineering structures such as bridges and tunnels. In order to bring about aes- thetically as well as functionally and economically optimised structures, our civil engineers and architects work jointly on one design. Where it is necessary to drain sealed surfaces or entire routes, our water management experts are involved. In this way all OBERMEYER’s architects and engineers join forces to pursue our corporate objective: the best possible solution for your construction project.

DESIGN 4.0 Modern design with BIM and GIS Nowadays the success of a company greatly depends on the extent to which it uses state-of-the-art IT technology. OBERMEYER was quick to avail itself of the advantages of EDP-related working methods. Already in 1967, less than a decade after its foundation, the engineering consultancy put its first computer into operation. In 1975 the technophile company founder installed a mainframe and OBERMEYER rapidly established itself as a leading user of computer-based planning tools. Today OBERMEYER operates more than 500 different programs. In the 1990s the company developed its own software for alignment planning. ProVI, the program system for traffic and infrastructure planning, is based on AutoCAD and features special modules for the planning of roads, railways and sewer networks. Internationally marketed since the year 2000, ProVI has in the meantime established itself as the standard software with Deutsche Bahn as well as with many engineering consultancies. One of the essential goals of OBERMEYER is to explore new ways for innovative, sustainable and cost-efficient planning. In doing so, we apply modern IT solutions for integrated processes with end-to-end data access. OBERMEYER has been employing BIM methods to perform projects for over ten years. As a result the consultancy quickly made a name for itself in the sphere of 3D-oriented planning. On top of this comes the employment of geoinformatics – GIS. GIS enables geodata collection, data analysis, the preparation of digital terrain models as well as the classification of aerial and satellite image data. In interaction with the BIM building models this yields a complex information model which permits OBERMEYER to offer its clients technologically optimised overall planning spanning all business fields.
