communicate their research and ideas? There has been an exponential
growth in career opportunities in university writing centers for individuals
with graduate degrees from all disciplines, including STEM. In this session,
recent URI alumni who work as writing center directors at universities
around the country will offer information about the nature of their work, their
career path, and the many opportunities in the field. Hear from recent
alumni who have built careers in this field.

Diversity: Opportunity for 3 Grad Students!
The Graduate School is offering 3 FREE scholarships to grad
students for the National Center for Faculty Development &
Diversity's WriteNow Access - Summer 2021 Session, June 7-
Aug. 1. This program was created to give graduate students and
postdocs the tailored support and accountability they need to
accomplish their writing goals. WriteNow Access provides 8
weeks of access to the WriteNow platform, timer, and community.
Participants also receive dedicated support and exclusive content.
Complete this online form and the Graduate School will select
and sponsor 3 students: WriteNow Summer 2021
Normally, there is a $245 registration fee for this highly desirable program.

URI's 2021 Research & Scholarship Excellence Award in Social
Sciences, Arts & Humanities. Jonathan will be joining University of
Tampa as a tenure track professor this fall.
Felicia Woods, PhD Candidate BES, on her selection as a recipient
of an American Association University Women (AAUW) American
Fellowship.
Adriana Wilding, International Relations MA Student, on her Boren
Fellowship to study Turkish language in Azerbaijan.
Shawn Fennell, International Relations MA Student, for receiving a
