                                Retro Pay
TABLE OF CONTENTS At least let’s start with some good news, retroactive pay due to the ratification of the
collective agreement will appear on this cheque.
This is the 2% pay increase retro to July 1, 2019. Remember that the pay is taxable and
CTA YEAR END GENERAL has been taxed at source. Thus, no surprises from the tax man should be forthcoming
but, it will diminish the dollar value.

Childcare
Children from Kindergarten to Grade 5
Teachers are considered Essential Service Workers and should contact their child’s home district to find out more information about
options available to them. Children in Kindergarten to Grade 5 are able to attend school 5 days a week for a normal school day.
There may also be options for before and after school care.
Pre-school Children
Teachers who require daycare can ask their administrators for a list of available daycares. The district has been working with
daycares to find out which ones are available. Teachers categorized as Essential Service Workers and there is a government
program in place to help find open daycares. The phone number is 1-888-338-6622 and select option 4, or online at
