The Big Picture: What is Happening?

Let’s look at the data

- As discussed in the last info session, Italy has been 10
days ahead of the US in terms of the shape of its ‘daily
                       new cases’ chart
- What does this tell us about what may happen next?
While the dynamics in each country are much different,
Italy’s curve may signal that we are 10-14 days away from
starting to stabilize the number of new cases per day in
                                 the US

                                                                 Testing, testing, testing

                                                                     - The US has been slow to provide testing and
supplies to hospitals, which means the number of
cases reported may be severely understated

                                                                 - Without serious mitigation, experts estimate our
healthcare system will be overwhelmed by late April
and our death totals will reach 200,000+ Americans

NYC: What is Happening? Are we making progress?

             Social Distancing is …
                                                         Other Considerations
                         working?

- There are some signals that social distancing may - We will continue to see other US cities start to see
curves similar to NYC – we were unfortunately the

cases’ has trended down over the past 3-4 days
                                                      - That may signal though that we could be earlier to
