COVID Restrictions: No Spectators allowed to attend
Welcome to the CSSA Primary State Swimming Championships 2021.
It is a pleasure to welcome all participating swimmers & accompanying teachers who have
gathered here today from across the State. We trust that all participants will enjoy a day filled
with fellowship and keen competition. The CIS Primary Swimming Carnival will be
held on Thursday 18 March 2021.

COMPETITION RULES
1. For each event competitors will be seeded based on their zone entry time.
2. Competitors from all Zones are asked to remain within their allotted area when they are not
participating in, or being marshaled for, an event.
3. Listen carefully to all announcements. There must be quiet before the start of each race.
4. The starting procedure is as follows:
a) Whistle (competitors move onto the front of the block).
b) Take your marks (competitors move quickly into the starting position).
c) Hooter (which emanates from a microphone located in each block).
5. In the 200m Individual Medley the order of stroke to be swum shall be:
Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle.
6. Times indicated in the program are a guideline only and are in no way binding.
Swimmers should report immediately marshaling calls are made.
7. Swimmers must stay in their respective lanes until places are allocated and leave the pool
when the whistle is blown by the official.
8. Zones are expected to provide adequate supervision for their own students throughout the
whole day. Students must not be in any outside pools or areas out of bounds. Students found
breaching this rule may be disqualified from the carnival by the Carnival Organiser.
9. Schools are responsible to ensure that their students know which event they are in and that
they are in correct swimming attire according to the rules of the CSSA Handbook.
10. Whilst there will be first-aid supplies at the pool, schools/zones will be responsible for any
first-aid for their students. Should an accident occur the Zone Manager is responsible for filling
in an Accident Form which is obtainable from the Carnival Convenor.
11. Appeals to be considered must be made to the Carnival Organiser no later than 30
minutes after the event concerned. Appeals can be made only by the Zone Convenor or
representative.
