The promise of spring is here as the earth warms and flower buds begin to blossom
with colour. Springtime brings with it several holidays and celebrations of reflection,
renewal, love, and community.
I hope you and your family and friends have opportunities to enjoy time and celebrate
springtime together (even if from afar and virtually).
Anita Macfarlane, Program Director
Did you know that Canada is the only G7 country without a national school food
program?

Food & Friends at HomeWe’ve seen the closure of schools recently. I
know that we’ve been here before, and that we
are all doing everything we can to make sure
that students are still able to get access to
healthy meals and snacks no matter where they
are learning. Jen Hutchinson, Manager, Student
Nutrition Programs Central West Ontario
Thanks to the support from our community the
Food & Friends at Home initiative will continue
until the end of this school year.
Families with children and youth supported by the Children’s Foundation through the
Food & Friends Program are eligible to register for a Food & Friends at Home kit.
This kit provides one snack for each day of a two week period similar to what would
be provided through a Food & Friends student nutrition program.
The SEED is part of the Guelph Community
Health Centre. They believe that everyone should
have access to good food in a dignified way.
The SEED’s delivery service of Ministry of
Children, Community and Social Services
Nutrition Guideline approved products to Food &
Friends Programs is ready to roll.
The first step is to complete this intake form. The
SEED will issue memberships on a rolling basis
and aims to accept orders and deliver to you as soon they are able.
