The South West and South Wales is a large region comprising of both rural and densely
populated areas spanning: Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire
and South Wales. Each area has differing geographical or industry factors that influence

Flybe planes are set to fly again after new owners agree rescue deal
Flybe planes might start taking off from British airports again early next
year after administrators said they had agreed a rescue deal for the
collapsed airline. Thyme Opco has bought Flybe's remaining assets and
plans to restart the airline, although on a smaller scale than before.

Two charities providing vital food to people hit by the Covid-19
pandemic are appealing for people in Cornwall to help support the UK’s
biggest food collection this Christmas.

Work starts on new watersports centre in Cornwall on The Lizard
Children’s watersports charity, the Helford River Children’s Sailing Trust,
has signed a contract with local firm Brady Construction Services to
build an accessible watersports centre. The new facility will be at
Trevassack, a 26-acre former serpentine quarry near Garras on The

Wren Kitchens opens Avonmouth depot, creating 30 jobs
A UK kitchen retailer has opened a new transport depot in Avonmouth,
near Bristol, creating 30 jobs. Wren Kitchens said it had expanded its
logistical operations in the South West to cater for increased customer
demand. The company now has seven transport hubs across the
country and a fleet of 140 lorries, which deliver 2,000 kitchens around

Exeter's new zero-carbon Ada Lovelace block set to bring jobs boost
Exeter’s new £6.6million zero-carbon office and laboratory building is
on course for completion in 2021 and is expected to bring 150 jobs to
the city. Due for completion in February 2021, the building will bring
150 jobs when its tenant businesses move in from Spring 2021. This is
in addition to sustaining hundreds of jobs during the construction

Fast-growing Plymouth-based company will work with BoiConstruct on
cleaning its anaerobic digestion facilities. Read more
Drain repair company opens depot near Bristol, creating new jobs
A drain repair company that operates across Wales and the South West
has opened a huge new depot near Bristol, creating 10 jobs. Arch
Drainage Services, which is headquartered in Cardiff and provides
advanced diagnostics and drain repair services for businesses and local
authorities, has acquired 7,000 sq ft on Avonmouth Industrial Estate.

New aircraft maintenance firm creates more than 100 jobs in Exeter
A new aircraft maintenance company is being set up in Exeter and is
immediately recruiting 100 mechanics and engineers with plans to
more than double that number. Exeter Aerospace has been
established by Dublin Aerospace Group, the aviation maintenance
company based in Ireland, and will operate from the former Flybe
Maintenance Services at Exeter Airport. Read more

Investment in full fibre broadband provider will create jobs and supply
150,000 premises
Investment in a Cardiff-based broadband service provider will create
140 jobs and supply 150,000 premises in south Wales with full fibre
broadband. Infracapital, the infrastructure investment arm of M&G Plc
and one of Europe’s leading infrastructure investors, has made the
undisclosed investment in Spectrum. Read more
Brenig Construction secures low energy housing contracts as part of £14m
worth of new work
A fast-growing North Wales builder has secured £14 million of new
work including a trio of exciting low energy housing contracts.
Brenig Construction actually gained £6 million in orders and have
taken on seven staff since lockdown, and they have continued to
attract new contracts since their return to work. Read more
The Valleys security fencing firms with big expansion plans
A start-up Valleys security fencing company has hit the ground
running since being set up in February having exceeded the £1m
turnover barrier as it targets creating 50 jobs. Perimeter Fencing
Solutions, based in Abercynon, said within five years it is aiming to
reach a £4m turnover, according to its directors Hywel Davies, Scott
Thomas and Richard Salmon. Read more

Owner Penelope Wyser started the company in January 2020 and she

Newport to get 200 new jobs with the creation of a Covid-19 testing lab
Newport is set for a jobs injection with the arrival of a new Covid-19
lab testing facility. The UK Government’s Lighthouse Lab at Imperial
Park will see the creation of 200 jobs in a partnership with global
diagnostics company PerkinElmer. Read More
Hundreds of new jobs are being created at Amazon base near Swansea
Hundreds of new jobs are being created in Swansea Bay as one of the
biggest employers in the area gets set to hire new staff before the end
of the year. More than 600 new positions are being made available at

A multi-million pound investment is on the way to boost digital
connectivity across the Swansea Bay City Region. The £55 million
Digital Infrastructure project is among those due to be part-funded by
the Swansea Bay City Deal that will together help accelerate regional
