month as part of the 2019 BrisAsia Festival.

IN Ring in the Lunar New Year in the Valley
W Head to Chinatown Mall on Saturday 9 February and Sunday 10 February for
Lunar New Year festivities. There will be plenty for everyone, with an exciting
mix of roving lion and dragon dancers, hands-on workshops, market stalls,
firecrackers and Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultural performances.
The Lunar New Year celebration is one of the Valley’s flagship events,
alongside the Chinese Moon Festival and Valley Fiesta. Last year alone, more
than 61,500 people attended the precinct’s musical and cultural events. Head
along to Lunar New Year celebrations for a great day and evening out.
The Fortitude Valley precinct is a vibrant space that hosts music and cultural
events throughout the year, with Brunswick Street Mall and Chinatown Mall
being the central entertainment hubs.

New-look Howard Smith Wharves
Howard Smith Wharves – the new river hotspot
Brisbane’s newest dining and entertainment precinct, Howard Smith Wharves, is
now open!
Formerly industrial land for decades, Council undertook an extensive process to
transform the 3.43 hectare site into a vibrant riverfront destination, announcing
the successful tender for the revitalisation project in 2016.
The new must-visit location, creating new leisure and lifestyle opportunities for
locals and visitors, includes parkland and an outdoor amphitheatre that will host
events such as markets and festivals year-round. There is also scenic river-side
dining at new restaurants, a brewery and an overwater bar, and a five-star hotel
opening in March.
You can access Howard Smith Wharves from the top of the cliffs via two new lifts
at Bowen Terrace and Wilson Outlook Reserve, or walk or cycle in via the City
