Food
Allergies
in Cats
In order to find out if your pet
has food allergies, it should be fed
a new diet for 4 – 6 weeks and see if its
symptoms are better. You should feed the
new diet only (no treats, people food, nothing
else) during the trial period. Let us know how
your pet is doing at the end of the trial period.
At that time, you may be able to add other
ingredients or switch to another diet.

Prescription Diets - Recommended
Hills prescription diet (skin/food sensitivities) z/d
Prescription diet Royal Canin Feline Hydrolyzed Protein diet
Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets HA Hydrolyzed Feline
Formula

Limited ingredient diets can be used to rule out food
allergies by feeding a meat (protein) that the dog or cat has
never eaten. This is a “hit or miss” method.

Purina Pro Plan Focus Adult Sensitive Skin and Stomach
Lamb and Rice formula
Nutro Natural Choice Cat Food
Blue Buffalo Basics
Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Diets
• Green Pea and Duck
• Green Pea and Salmon
