Nature Explorers Summer Camp
Bass Lake Park
Ages: 8‒13
Summer camp is designed to extend park programs that are
offered throughout the year. Fishing basics, taught as a four-
hour class is extended throughout the week, Monday through
Friday, to give a young angler plenty of opportunity to develop
their fishing skills. Archery 101 and 202 teaches safety and
proper form to allow a young archer plenty of time to develop
new skills. Summer camp archers can sign up for Archery 202
after camp to continue developing their skills. Canoeing
basics begins with a boating safety presentation covering
weather, clothing and trip preparation. Basic canoe strokes
are reinforced along with safe, age appropriate personal
rescue techniques including controlled capsize. All campers
need to bring a change of clothes including a towel and water
shoes, no flip flops. Campers will also need to bring a non-
refrigerated lunch and water bottle; snacks will be provided.
Parents will need to check their campers in on Monday to
complete forms and waivers. Transportation for Friday offsite
trips and other travel needs is provided in the Bass Lake
fifteen passenger van. We do not offer early drop-off or after
program care. If a camper needs to leave camp early, or will
not attend camp on a certain date, please communicate this
to camp staff as soon as possible.

Drama Camp Goldilocks on Trial
Holly Springs Cultural Center
Age: 10‒14
Goldilocks is on trial for breaking and entering and the
destruction of private property. A wide cast of fairytale
characters serve as witnesses for the prosecuting and
defense attorneys. To hear the Bare family tell it, Goldie
should be found guilty. But an unscrupulous judge and a slew
of unreliable witnesses - including a blind witch, a forgetful old
woman who lives in a shoe, a dwarf with a nasty disposition,
a skittish tuffet-tester, and a not-so-bright county boy who’d
trade beans for a cow make it hard to build a case against the
gal with the golden hair. Scripts are given on the very first day
of class to come prepared to hit the ground running! The class
will also work on sets, props, costumes and makeup for a very
busy week of drama. Each camp ends with a final sharing on
the last day of class for friends and family @ 3pm, followed
by a cast party. What to bring each day: comfortable clothes,
water bottle, lunch and 2 snacks, script, pencil and workbook!
$40 supply fee due on the first day of camp.

CCT - YA Ensemble Summer Show – Me, My Selfie, and I
Holly Springs Cultural Center
Age: 13‒18
We live in a world of social media, one in which we seem to be
recording our every experience. But are we making memories
or missing out on them? Through a series of scenes and
monologues - everything from an accidental first date to a
most unusual art exhibit to creating that last, best selfie - we
meet a group of teens who are struggling to find the balance
between documenting their lives and living them. Written
by Jonathan Dorf, this play is for high school and advanced
middle school students. Auditions are first day of camp, so
please come prepared with a one-minute monologue. Audition
forms and scripts will be emailed prior to first day of class.
We welcome students interested in backstage arts - lighting,
sound, sets, props & costumes! There is a $40 supply fee due
the first day of camp. Monday through Friday.
