Lunch Special are an international string band based in London. They play a
mix of bluegrass, old-time and gospel originals with a soulful, raucous energy.
Taking their inspiration from diverse backgrounds spanning Hong Kong,
America, Italy, Norway and Ireland, the trio have played Glastonbury and
the Americana Music Association UK Showcase.

Brigid O’Neill
SATURDAY 19 / Café Souperb / 1pm / FREE
Brigid O’Neill is an award-winning songwriter and gifted storyteller from
Co.Down. Brigid has performed alongside artists such as Eddi Reader, Mary
Coughlan and Paul Brady. Her latest album, Touchstone, weaves elements of
folk, country, blues and jazz into tales of happiness, heartbreak and the
human condition. “A voice that can break your heart at 30 paces” - BBC NI.

Pilgrim’s Dream
SATURDAY 19 / Sweet Beat Café / 2pm / FREE
Pilgrim’s Dream is the project of London’s Rob Ouseley. Influenced by bands
such as Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver, Ouseley’s music is Indie-Folk/Americana
based. A finalist in the 2018 American Songwriting Awards, with over 50,000
streams on Spotify, he has played festivals including Camden Rocks, River
Cottage Festival and HebCelt.

Shane Joyce
SATURDAY 19 / WB’s Coffee House / 3pm / FREE
At an early age, Shane Joyce was influenced by the great songsmiths Bob Dylan,
Leonard Cohen and beat poets Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg. In 2018 Hot
Press Magazine included the Kilkenny native on their “One’s To Watch” list and
has since played Glastonbury festival 2019. “A serious folk song-writer who,
thankfully, has something to say.” - Remy’s Music and Film.

Billow Wood

Hailing from Ballina, Co. Mayo, Billow Wood are the West’s most recent Indie
Folk breakout band. Following the release of their debut EP Can You See Me
to a sell-out crowd in Whelan’s, Dublin, they toured the USA playing festivals
and venues in Orlando, Chicago, Buffalo, Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Boston.

Engaging, uplifting and utterly enjoyable, the Kilfenora Céilí Band, take their rich musical
heritage into the future with an expertly choreographed show, boasting highly rhythmic
traditional tunes, together with beautiful songs and witty repartee in what Sharon Shannon
calls “Fantastic, feel-good, happy, lively music”.

The 13-piece band, together with guest singers Edel Vaughan and Jerry Lynch; dancers
Laura Minogue, Michael and Matthew Gardiner, merge both traditional and contemporary
repertoire featuring everything from Joni Mitchell’s Both Sides Now to upbeat traditional
reels and jigs by well-known composers, Charlie and Maurice Lennon interspersed with new
waltzes and polkas by band concertina player, Tim Collins.

                                     Bedlam Suitcase is an exciting locally-based band who have recently finished
                                     their debut album ‘The Fourth Wall’ produced by NYC-based Gerry Leonard,
                                     David Bowie’s long-time guitarist and Musical Director. Vocalist and songwriter,
                                     Tara Baoth Mooney, played with Moth Electric and Trollschtenk. She was the
                                     voice of ‘Shadow’ and wrote Shadow’s songs in the Jim Henson show, Bear in the
Big Blue House. Tom Jamieson played with Auto da Fe and Those Nervous Animals. Padraig Meehan was the principal
songwriter with Those Nervous Animals. They will be accompanied by a full band for this very special Sligo Live debut gig.

Hugh Feely
FRIDAY 25 / CAFÉ VICTOR / 12pm / FREE
Hailing from Manorhamilton, Hugh Feely was an integral member of Rackhouse
Pilfer and is now embarking on a solo career. He has performed at major
festivals including Glastonbury, Body & Soul and La Roche Bluegrass Festival.
In August 2017 his song Lost In A Feeling was awarded Hot Press Magazine’s
“Song Of The Day”. He is releasing a debut EP in 2020.

Padraig Jack
FRIDAY 25 / WB’s Coffee House / 3pm / FREE
Aran Islands bilingual artist, Padraig Jack is best known for writing songs in his
native Irish language. Padraig has been special guest on shows with Mick
Flannery and The Saw Doctors. He appeared at Electric Picnic and spent
summer of 2019 touring the UK & Ireland with Sharon Shannon. He’s currently
recording his debut album with producer John Reynolds (Sinead O’Connor, Brian Eno,
Damien Dempsey).

Mules & Men

Mules & Men are a Dublin-based string-band and pioneers of the Irish Celt-grass
scene. With three part harmonies, blazing string playing and inspired original
material, this band has been mesmerizing audiences far and wide. Since forming
in 2016 they have performed at Electric Picnic, Knockanstockan, Westport Folk &
Bluegrass and La Roche Bluegrass in France.

After a sold out show at Celtic Connections 2019, CUA have just released a new
album, In Flight Off The Islands. Renowned for intricate, mesmerising vocal
harmonies and inspiring instrumentation, CUA blend guitar, fiddle and bouzouki

Luinn

Luinn are a fiddle and piano duo from Colombia and are among Latin America’s
foremost Irish Music promoters. They have graced Medellín’s most prestigious
stages and performed at the first Irish Ambassador’s residence. A captivating
acoustic duo that will awaken senses and pull at heartstrings through their
mixture of emotive traditional pieces and vibrant original sounds.

Fronted by two female singers, but equally an instrumental powerhouse with
uilleann pipes, flute, fiddle, piano, accordion, guitar, dobro and bodhrán.
Their music is steeped in tradition but has grown its own wings over the

Kilkelly

Kilkelly is a project based in Berlin by Irish songwriter, Conor Kilkelly, with
collaborators from the UK, Canada, Ireland and Germany. A mangled mix
of genres such as blues, folk and spoken word – with a splash of the macabre

Mountain Holler

Mountain Holler is visionary music from multi-instrumentalist Mark Etherington.
Based in Saint Petersburg, Florida and described as cavernous alt-folk, his
captivating music reflects Etherington’s journey through life and nature.
A meticulous blending of open tuned guitars and haunting vocals, Mountain
Holler casts a sonic spell on his listeners.

Russell Joslin & Sarah McCaig

Russell Joslin brings the tradition of the singer-songwriter into the 21st
century, representing the new breed of socially-engaged wordsmiths.
Accompanied by the darkened vocals of Australian soulmate Sarah McCaig,
together they form a haunting and turbulent live duet. ‘The musical charge
they generated together was truly electrifying’ - Musicboxfolk.

The Gawley Brothers

The Gawley Brothers are an Indie-Folk duo from Galway City. Inspired by
old school musical acts such as The Everly Brothers, Simon & Garfunkel,
Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley, their sound hinges on tight harmonies fused
with indie elements. The brothers have previously opened for Hudson Taylor
and Ryan Sheridan.

Hanora George
SUNDAY 27 / Insomnia O’Connell St. / 12pm / FREE
Hanora George is baited and ready. The Cork native released her debut
EP in May 2016, George excited audiences to the point where she has
had to undertake a ‘catch and release’ only policy for future expeditions.
She is currently putting her heart and soul into her first album which will
be released in late 2019.

Jun’s resonant jazz-rich vocals, eclectic instrumentation, and skilful use of
lyrics set an aesthetic yet empowering tone. Born in Japan and raised between
Venezuela and Florida, she’s worked on translating these diverse genres into
her unique style of music. Jun has shared the stage with Tom Morello (Rage
Against The Machine) and John Lamb (Duke Ellington Orchestra).

Clare Sands Band

Cork based multi-instrumentalist, Clare Sands, creates energetic, trad infused
popular music. Her singles “Dance’ and ’Let the Sun Shine’ held position in the
top 3 in the Irish charts for many months. Clare has worked as a sought-after
session musician with The Hothouse Flowers, Mick Flannery, The Stunning,
Jack L, SON, as well as selling out shows as an artist in her own right.

The Hunter
SUNDAY 27 / The Harp Tavern / 6pm / FREE
The Hunter are Teresa Galvin and Stephanie Pawula. Described as refreshing,
contemporary and authentic, this Sligo based group make elegant and soulful
music with global influences, from Irish roots to American folk, Blues and
Afro-Brazilian cultures. These influences are beautifully assimilated into their
sultry sound. Their debut album, The Bet, was released in April 2017.

Jake Morrell
SUNDAY 27 / McLynn’s / 7pm / FREE
After being discovered by Dermot O’Leary, Jake Morrell has been winning some
influential supporters, including the likes of Emily Eavis and Bob Harris. Jake’s
warm harmony-drenched country songs have been increasingly featured on
BBC Radio 2 playlists in the UK. 2019 has seen Jake return to The O2 London for
Country2Country festival and a milestone performance at Glastonbury.
