Judges Profile
Miss Salina M Chan
(Tasmania)
In 1960 my parents brought home a British Bulldog called “Sheila”.
My life was about to change. She became my best friend. I learnt to
walk by hanging onto her many wrinkles if I stumbled she would stop
and wait till I found my feet. She even saved my life once by
dispatching a Red-Bellied Black snake near my playpen in our Sydney
backyard without injury to herself.
I entered my first dog show in the late 1970’s with my foundation
bitch, Donallen Lady Midge bred by Gordon and Roma Long. Not
long after that I applied for my prefix “Snobul”.
Over the years a number of my British Bulldogs and St. Bernard’s (my
second breed for many years) have gone on to win Best in Show at
breed specialties. In 1990 I had a sea-change and moved to
Tasmania and established a Boarding Kennel. It was in Tasmania
that I became a steward and later a conformation judge for groups 6
and 7, with subsequent judging appointments across Australia and Internationally.
With the arrival of Covid-19 and the restrictions worldwide I had the pleasure and novel experience of
judging some online dog shows. The Danish Bulldog Club (British
and French Bulldogs) members only and South Africa’s Bullish
Magazine French Bulldog International Show.
In recent years my British Bulldogs have also participated in
performance sports with three gaining their Rally Novice titles
and one their Rally Advanced title. Still wanting to do more,
Tracking and Track and Search trials were on the agenda. My
“Benny” Dual CH (T) Snobul And The Beat Goes On (AI) RA.TSD.
was the world’s first Tracking Champion British Bulldog. His sister
“Billie Jean” CH Snobul Ring A Ding Ding (AI) RN.TD. is Australia’s
second British Bulldog with a Tracking Dog title. I am hoping to
enter Scent Work trials later this year.

and British Bulldogs.
Sophia Lloyd-Hansen
Sophia has donated her time and talents to be our Junior
Handlers judge for 2021. It wasn’t that long ago that she
competed in our handler’s competitions and we a happy to
support one of our club youngsters on her journey to becoming
a judge having gained her certification as a Qualified Junior
Handlers this year. That means Junior Handlers can use their
results as a qualifying show towards the Junior Handler State
Finals in 2021.
