1- INTRODUCTION

1.1 PANDEMIC SITUATION IN CAMBODIA
Despite having been able to really tackle the pandemic since
its beginning and the several measures set in place by the
Royal Government of Cambodia, the February 20, 2021
community outbreak has totally changed the outlook.

The positive cases have rapidly surge, with the country facing
triple digit daily increase in positive cases as well as sadly
witness its first COVID19 related death. The total as of today
(1May21– Source: ttps://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/)
is 13400 cases, 5100 recovered, 8300 actives cases and 93
deaths.

1.2 LOCKDOWN

In view of the sudden rapid growth in cases, the authorities
have decided to set a curfew on the 1st of April, quickly
followed by implementing a nation wide alcohol ban and the
subsequent lock down of Phnom Penh and Sihanouk Ville on
the 4th of April, initially for 2 weeks. On April 28th, the
lockdown and alcohol ban have been extended till the 5th of
May for low risk areas . For medium and high risk areas, the
lockdown will be continued for 2 weeks. Its is unclear as of
today if these will be re-conducted, however, given the daily
counts of positive cases, it is likely that they could. The
government has now prioritize red zones for mass vaccination
with a target of 50,000/day. The Army has also been deployed
to accelerate the administration of the vaccines.
                                                                 3

distributed. Le Deli Restaurant has been turned into a
warehouse, used for both production and packing. The
production is usually done in the afternoon for the next day,
while the boxing and packing of food is done early morning for
first deliveries prior lunch time.
