Fund-The-Future: Hands-On Science How do we know when the sun will rise and set? How does the changing environment affect organisms? How do we know matter exists even if it cannot be seen? These are just some of the questions students will explore with the new Science curriculum. This new curriculum was approved by the San Carlos School District and will update our science program to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). This year’s Fund-the-Future campaign will bring engaging, hands-on science learning to the K–8 San Carlos classrooms. San Carlos Charter will use its share of the fund to buy equipment and consumables for science education. Investing in science will yield returns well beyond the school day. Students will: • Learn science concepts with engaging hands on exercises. • Build critical thinking and problem solving skills. • Become careful consumers of scientific and technological information related to their everyday lives. • Appreciate the beauty and wonder of science and continue their scientific explorations outside of school. • Develop the skills to enter careers of their choice, including (but not limited to) careers in science, engineering and technology. Your donation to Fund-The-Future will provide the needed resources to purchase hands-on kits for classroom lessons, enhance professional development for teachers in science education, obtain additional iPads and Chromebooks for students, and provide principals with funds to support science-related activities at their school. Your donation will be magnified by a dollar for dollar match up to an amount announced at the virtual gala. celebrate the parents, family members, businesses and community members
who support the San Carlos Education Foundation, especially during these
challenging times. The Virtual Gala gives us the opportunity to come together
as a community to raise critically needed funds. Bid high and give generously!
Your gifts to SCEF support teachers, enrichment programs, counselors and
other educators who would otherwise be reduced or eliminated from our
students’ world of learning due to reduced state funding. From transitional
kindergarten through eighth grade, SCEF gives every child every chance to
excel with a robust curriculum beyond what public funding would provide.
We are truly stronger together.

Starlight Raffle
Tickets 1 for $100, 3 for $250 and 6 for $500
Your chance to select one item from a list of eligible Virtual Starlight Gala
auction and premier silent auction items. The winning ticket will be drawn and
the winner announced at the beginning of the April 25, 2021 Virtual Starlight
Gala. Only 300 tickets will be sold. Tickets can be purchased by emailing
starlightraffle@scefkids.org indicating the number of tickets you would like
to purchase. Raffle ticket orders will be accepted through noon on April 24th,
or until they are sold out, whichever comes first. You will be contacted to
arrange for payment as raffle tickets cannot be sold online. You do not need
to be present to win.
