We have reason to celebrate.
After five years of company history and with thousands of enthusiastic users
behind us, we are now launching the original silvertex®* as a member of the
Good Water product family.
This means that our patented, self-dosing silvertex®, with its silver ion active
formula that has been tried and tested for years, is still available. The pro-
ducts for use in different tank sizes up to 240 l are simply labelled XS, S, M
and L. Of course, the material flexibility so appreciated by our customers is
retained.
And not only that: we have expanded our product family around clean water
in the outdoor area. A very special highlight is our easy-to-use tank and drin-

Anna, why would anyone want to use silver to protect
water from germs?
Well, the preservative effect of silver on water, wine and food was already
known in ancient times. Since then, silver-containing containers, for example,
have been used for storage and protection against spoilage.
There were no laboratories in those times, but people
still used silver based on positive experience. How does it
actually work?
Today we know that even low concentrations of silver ions inhibit the mul-
tiplication of germs and eventually cause the death of bacilli, some virus
strains and human pathogenic fungi. The concentration of silver ions requi-
red for this effect is produced on the surface of metallic silver in contact
with water or aqueous media. This process is favoured by flow movement and
dissolved oxygen in the medium. The silver ions released in this way are then
released into the medium to be preserved, in our case water.
So it’s that simple? A little silver in the water is enough and
germs don‘t stand a chance?
No, unfortunately it isn’t that simple (-laughs-). In order to provide a sufficient
germ-reducing quantity of silver ions permanently and without technical as-
sistance, for instance in a water tank, a large silver surface that is always in
contact with water is needed. The challenge for effectiveness is not the quan-
tity of silver, but the surface provided with good flow properties. The silver
surfaces also mustn’t overlap, because then the silver ions have no chance.
By the way, overdosing is impossible, as excess silver ions are bound by the

Anna, one last question: Do you use silvertex® Good Water
yourself?
I certainly do and have done for years. I don‘t have a mobile home, but I put
a small piece of silvertex® in my garden watering cans and they stay nice and
clean. And of course I use silvertex® Good Water for my cats’ drinking foun-
tain. So wherever I store my water for a longer period of time.

REGARDING SILVERTEX® GOOD WATER
What is silvertex® Good Water?
Silvertex® Good Water is an innovative textile 3D-knitted fabric that uses the
germ-inhibiting and germ-reducing effect of silver ions in liquids –among ot-
her things for the preservation of drinking water in private use. Silvertex®
Good Water is made of polyester, polyamide and silver and was developed
to protect deposited water from microbial contamination such as bacteria
(legionella, pseudomonas, E. coli etc.), fungi/spores, viruses and the forma-
tion of biofilms.
How can I use silvertex® Good Water?
Fill fresh water into a clean container, take Silvertex® Good Water out of
its packaging and place it as centrally as possible in the tank. The material
should not rest directly on the bottom of the tank!
How many silver ions dissolve out of silvertex® Good
Water?
The concentrations of Ag+ ions in drinking water treated with silvertex® Good
Water are in the range of 0.02 – 0.04 mg/l (depending on the initial quality of
the water) and thus far below the guideline value of 0.08 mg/l according to
the WHO guidelines for drinking water quality.
What is the permissible limit of silver in drinking water?
Can I use water treated with silvertex® Good Water as drin-
king water?
The treated (preserved) drinking water can be drunk without hesitation. Regi-
ons (such as the EU) and countries each have their own regulations for drin-
king water. The WHO gives a guideline value of 0.08 mg/l dissolved silver.
Is there a possibility of overdosing?
No, the concentration of dissolved silver ions in drinking water does not ex-
ceed the permissible guideline values. Each substance dissolves only up to a
certain concentration. This limit is reached at the point of chemical equilib-
