O n Nov. 27, more than 700 attendees
gathered in the Plaza on Las Olas for
the 17th annual STILES Light Up Downtown
VQDGPGƂVJack & Jill Children’s Center. The
spirit of the holidays was alive with festive
activities, carnival rides, games, entertainers
and more. The event culminated with the
lighting of the 30-foot-tall Christmas tree
in the plaza. Nearly $100,000 was raised to Event Co-Chairs Marie Hansen, Scott and Laura Godoy with Presenting

DREAM BIG LEGACY LUNCHEON
I n November, Debbie’s Dream Foundation:
Curing Stomach Cancer hosted its fourth
annual Dream BIG Legacy Luncheon at
Jacaranda Country Club in Plantation. The event
was attended by more than 170 guests and raised
nearly $50,000 to fund research and resources
for stomach cancer patients and their families
worldwide. The luncheon included a heartfelt
video presentation honoring the legacy of late DDF Board Member Mitchell Starr, Blake Starr and Amy Freund
DDF Founder Debbie Zelman. Pat Campola, a
stage 2 stomach cancer survivor, was presented
with the inaugural Debbie Zelman Legacy Award
in recognition of his long-standing involvement
as a mentor in DDF’s Patient Resource Education
Program, a member of DDF’s Board of Directors
and an advocate for others similarly affected by
