and girls in the world. Today, not a single country can claim to have achieved gender
equality. Multiple obstacles remain unchanged in law and in culture. Women and girls
continue to be undervalued; they work more and earn less and have fewer choices;
and experience multiple forms of violence at home and in public places. The year
2020 represents an unmissable opportunity to mobilise global action to achieve
gender equality and human rights of all women and girls.
Measles Immunisation Day is celebrated every year on 16thMarch to make people
aware of this deadly disease and how they can deal with the same. World TB day is
observed every year on 24th March to build public awareness about the global
epidemic and efforts to eliminate the disease. The date marks the day in 1882 when
Dr Robert Koch discovered the Causative bacterium which opened the way towards
diagnosing and curing this disease.
The World TB Day 2020 theme – “It's Time…” -puts the accent on the urgency to
act on the commitments made by global leaders to ensure no one is left behind.
Before I conclude, I would like to wish a very happy Women's Day to all my Fellow

Dear IMA members

Wishing all our IMA members and family members
happy Ugadi.

Dear members again atrocities against doctors
happened in Tumkur and Yadgiri last month, I feel we
should be very careful, have to follow all SOP'S, all local
branches should arrange Medico legal workshops ,should make everyone wellworsed
with all Medico legal problems.

Everyone should document complete history with written consent for every
procedures, every local branch should have whattsup group with communication
with police.

Only solution is Documentation, Honesty, regularity, unity, Accountability, should
be master in Medicolegal quiries.

All our dear friends know about Media impact now, each and every patient will
have smart phones, can record whole event in any given time and forward to the press,

Communication is very important after seeing any patient you should clearly
explain what you are suspecting and what treatment you are giving, what are the
adverse effects you expect from your treatment, everything you should convey to
your patients without hesitation, please be frank. My sincere request to all my dear
friends to limit the practice, you can charge consultation charges more and spend
more time for the patients and definitely this method helps in all aspects.
We ourselves should change in accordance with the time and the society.
Just compare olden practitioners with the new generation doctors you will have the
clear cut idea.

Dear friends we will have very fantastic three schemes IMA-KSSS, IMA-KPPS, IMA-
KSHS, it will be a boon for every IMA member in our state, it's because of great work
done by IMA-KSSS Management committee especially chairman Dr Y.C.Yogananda
Reddy and previous secretary Dr Madhusudhan Kariganur, our senior IMA member,

CWC member Dr Suresh Kuduva questioned IAP FBS office bearers about benefits,
definitely it's not comparable at all, they are spending lot of money for administration
expenses and elections, I am really shocked to see that main concept of joining FBS is
to get some thing for the family after members death, we have to reduce
administrative expenses as well as election expenses. this message clearly told by Dr
Suresh kudva I have to solute him, at the same time I have to salute Dr.Y.C.Yogananda
Reddy for his great work.

I request each and every member to enroll to IMA-KSSS and allow your family
members to get the wonderful benefit.

IMA-KPPS also becoming very lucrative now under the leader ship of Dr.
Honnegowda, definitely he will do wonders, I request all our dear members to utilise
the benefits, at the same time we cannot forget the great work done by Dr.D.
Somasekaraiah, his contributions to the IMA-KSB and IMA-KPPS is unmeasurable.

Everyone is aware about IMA-KSHS, you just compare this scheme with other
Mediclaim and Insurance policies, you will get the clear picture of advantages, I
should congratulate Dr. V.V.Chinivalar, Chairman, IMA-KSHS for his great work.

Dear friends you might have seen new CD's with most of the requirements to the
local branches it's actually our president's innovation, really it's wonderful idea it's
my duty to congratulate him for the noble thought. Let all of us work for the welfare of

Diversity ... Thy name is Woman!
When God created woman, he created her to be his equal, to be by his
side and to lead a life happy, for both of them. But what went wrong?
Where did the inequality begin? Who has to be blamed for the current
                       situation?
I would put the whole blame on the plough!! Sounds ridiculous, isn't
it? Yes, it is indeed very true! The woman who was with the man, very
much by his side, chose to stay at home and nurture the children,
restricting herself to household chores when man adapted to staying
outdoors, to plough and grow food. It is this moment of time that the
woman accepted herself to be weak and wanted to choose a lesser and lighter work for
herself. Slowly she was considered to be only a home maker and not a bread winner, nor a
decision maker. At this point, you would not agree with me and say that child bearing was not
an easy task either. I would acquiesce, that this is an irreplaceable virtue of a woman and she
is privileged to carry the weight of this responsibility very proudly and gracefully.
As the years passed and the work of the society got divided, the woman slowly took a back
seat watching and tolerating the change for which she herself had given in without any
struggle. Further, her role was assigned within the four walls. With religious customs and
beliefs, she became subservient, she moulded to bea subordinate. She built her own comfort
zone and found it difficult to evacuate form the stressful situation around her.
Though most women adapted this as a norm, to some, this submission was not acceptable.
The struggle for individuality, the struggle for freedom, began. Slowly it became a movement
and from getting a right to vote to submission of a candidature for ruling, her fight intensified.
She emerged victorious, though it took a participation of a few generations and a couple of
centuries!!
As more and more women are getting into the work force and become the bread winners,
the family has started to suffer. The new born and its childhood have taken a back seat. While
delay in pregnancies cause infertility and anxiousness, inability to give adequate time to each
other have led to matrimonial disharmony. As the woman has adapted herself to a
competitive world, it is not vice versa. Her presence is not acceptable. Many a times her
ambitions are considered to be self-centred. When it comes to giving up on work it is a rule
that it would be the woman who has to step down.
Discussing these situations is what everyone does. I would like to ponder on
certainprobable solutions to get a woman fulfil her desires both in her career and as a
homemaker.
Girls are taught to excel in their classes. While volumes are discussed on their subjects
nobody deals with what and how she would do when she has to make a choice between family
and her career. When she gets into marriage and child bearing, (which unfortunately
coincides with stepping into a career), her comeback is accompanied by a loss of years, and a
loss of experience too. While the male counterpart in her school and college, during this time
would have leaped ahead, she feels that she has missed on something important. Her chances

for a job and her passion, become meek. The first question is “What did you do all these
years”? She has no words to answer! It is time that the society understands that her precious
years have been utilised to fulfil nature's duty. There should be a system where her comeback
is welcomed and encouraged. Some amount of training must be arranged to see that she gets
the required skill to continue what she loved to do most. She may have started late, give her a
chance to be what she wants to be. After all there is only one life and a woman has to play so
many roles!
Maternity leave and the provisions for the woman who has to bear children must be
understood and followed by all. Places for breast feeding must be reserved. The children of
women at the workplace must have care takers so that they are not neglected. Indeed, raising
children in the right way is the responsibility of the society too.
A society should protect the women from crime like rape, acid attacks and so on. This
cannot happen overnight. The male children should learn to respect their mothers, sisters
and the female school mates. They should be made to do household chores and understand
that work wherever and whatever, must be shared. Impartiality in raising both the sexes
would probably go a long way in changing their mindset.
Women empowerment is what we all talk about. There are many successful women who
feel that they do not require to be segregated in groups like a women's wing etc, etc. These are
the woman who have been lucky enough to reach the top, with their share of struggle, of
course. With these wings they must identify themselves so that those who enter the scene
later will not have to face the same difficulties and thus could contribute immensely during
their tenure. In other words, 'Mentorship' is the word used to describe their role. They will be
lending their wings for those who do not have a pair, till they develop their own!
Having accepted our place in society it is important that we respect our biology too.
Freedom is not synonymous with wearing revealing clothes, drug addiction, alcohol intake
and late-night parties. They are not good for anybody for that matter. She puts herself into
unsafe situations, for which she may have to pay a heavy price. Dignity and divinity are the
ornaments of a woman, and she always wears them with grace. She must be admired for what
she is. She may be a home maker or an entrepreneur, she deserves an applause for the
innumerable sacrifices she makes during her journey of life.
On this women's day, I would like to wish you all the very best. I would also like to take this
opportunity to request you all to be supportive and sympathetic towards all the women
around you, may it be your maid or even the one who would have just joined as a fresher in
your institution. Encouragement is the key to the success of women empowerment. Together
we can and we will!
Finally, as commonly said, “Strong women aren't simply born. They are forged through the
challenges of life. With each challenge they grow, mentally and emotionally. They move
forward with their head held high and strength that cannot be denied. They are women who
have been through the storm and survived, they are warriors”!Let us be these strong women
and help each other to be what we dreamt to be!
Wishing you all a “Happy International Women's Day”
                                                                       - Dr Naaz Jahan Shaikh
