CONTENT Tēnā koutou 2 Kia ora katoa Welcome to the 2019 The Learning Place Prospectus. We have named this year’s prospectus Innovative Approaches to NCEA, a departure from our Vocational Pathways title in the past. Overwhelmingly feedback from industry, schools, par- ents and students supports the attainment of life skills, vocational skills and soft skills for our young people as they enter employment. 70% of school leavers do not go directly go on to tertiary training. The need for employment readiness is essential for a successful transition to the workforce. Our range of courses provide tangible opportunities for students to be ready for work alongside the attainment of credits that contribute to the completion of NCEA levels. A means to be able to measure the abilities of your students that is not always covered by the curriculum. The Learning Place continues to lead in the delivery of quality learning opportu- nities in accessible formats to more than 400 schools across the country. Whether delivery at your school, at one of our venues across New Zealand or on our on- line platform there are opportunities for all students to achieve successful out- comes to assist their pathway into tertiary education or employment. We have some amazing stories from our past students who have achieved NCEA and gone onto secure employment as a result of a strong CV that features skills acquired from our courses. We welcome the opportunity to share with you an innovative approach to the attainment of NCEA for your students in 2019. Tena koutou Nga mihi Piet van de Klundert Director

The Learning Place Ltd is a NZQA registered and accredited training provider. We deliver voca-
tional courses, aligned with Vocational Pathway unit standards, into over 400 secondary schools
across New Zealand. We also deliver a number of industry aligned compliance courses both
face to face and online.
We are a close knit team with a strong kaupapa of equal opportunities in education and em-
ployment. We have a commitment to education, Te Tiriti O Waitangi and celebrating the diver-
sity of our learners.
Courses
All of the courses we deliver to schools have NZQA unit standards
attached to them aligned with Vocational Pathways credits.
We can deliver in schools or from one of our network of venues
across the country.
When you have less than 14 students to sign up for a course check
our regular emails to you advertising the courses running in your
area. You can either email the schools team in the office to make a
booking or you can use our booking software, which allows you to
book your students with ease.
When you have 14 or more students we can deliver a course at your
school. There are no additional charges for this option, and often
this is a good way to get around the extra arrangements such as
transport to and from a venue (We are able to book a venue off site
if you do not have the space to host the course at school).
Students have the opportunity to resit units that they may not be-
come competent in straight away. We have a streamlined process in
place to ensure success.OVERVIEW 6
Our Kaiako
We have a combination of full time and part time kaiako that bring a wealth of industry
experience and teaching skills to their roles.

provide specialist training knowledge and delivery. All external contractors are experts
in their field of delivery and share our love of working with young people.
