Todays salons have become more diverse, now offering hair and
beauty services to their clients. We at Gainfort Academy regonise this,
and in turn have developed a unique package with the most relevant
and up to date approach giving students the qualifications and extra
techniques they need to be more employable.
With full time and part time options available, we can ensure there is
something to suit everyone. In our full time option students can gain a
full Junior Stylist qualification in a nine month academic year.

LEVEL 2 & 3 | HAIRDRESSING CERTIFICATE
The ITEC Accredited Professional Hairdressing Course is a one year
full time programme. This is ideal for the candidate with no experience,
school leavers or someone working in the industry looking for an
international recognised qualification.
In this course students will learn everything needed to get them
started as a junior hairstylist. From shampoo and conditioning, to
cutting and styling and also colour, hair extensions and much more.
We recognise the need to make your education as commercially
relevant as possible in order to ensure you leave us with a great
CV and fully equipped to embark on a fantastic career in the
hairdressing industry so we include career guidance training, make
up masterclasses, Affinage education programme including trend
techniques such as, colour cocktails, blonde enlightment, spray
tan techniques, professional photo shoot skills from mood board to
concept through to a professional photo shoot.
Students receive free training from Industry experts such as, L’OreaI,
Affinage or Revlon. *
Our ethos is “create inspire desire” and we look forward to sharing this
with you. The course involves continuous evaluation throughout the
year with a practical exam at course end. You will also have a portfolio
of work to complete and assignments.
DURATION
1 ACADEMIC YEAR
An average of 4 days per week in the Academy & 1 day a week work
placement.

ITEC PRO HAIRDRESSING LEVEL 2 | BARBERING CERTIFICATE This certificate is aimed at beginners with no previous experience, or established hairdressing staff who are looking to gain a qualification in barbering. This course will teach students a number of practices and procedures to offer a professional safe service. Gain knowledge on Cutting Men’s Hair - preparing to cut, providing a cut, assessing male baldness pattern, use of clippers blades, identify hair type, natural hairlines and necklines. Finish a cut and after care. You will also learn about Cutting Facial Hair - preparing and providing a service suitable for the client. Use of correct equipment, identify potential risk of in-grown hair, provide aftercare advise and care of your equipment. We provide opportunities for learners to focus on the development of the major functional skills and the wider functional skills in a barbering context, such as communicating with clients, working with others and problem solving; ensuring that you develop a range of skills, techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in employment as a barber. 4

ITEC PRO HAIRDRESSING LEVEL 2 | MAKEUP DIPLOMA This course will give you the excellent makeup skills necessary to be able to offer a full servicein salon. For weddings and grads etc. this enables you to offer a full package. SOCIAL MEDIA SKILLS We understand that social media marketing has the power to increase customer loyalty. We want to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to identify your social media strategy, understand what people want to see, how to write a post to drive engagement and so much more. PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT Our photoshoot team, headed up by Sharon Sheehan will guide you through the process of attaining that perfect photoshoot. From concepts and moodboards to completion we will guide you through every step of your professional photoshoot. This culminates in an end of year photoshoot. Students get digital copies to use in their portfolio for interviews etc. 6

2 WEEK POLISH
Learn to create luxurious long lasting manicures for clients fingertips
and have polish that stays so perfect it’s like getting a manicure
everyday. Gellux 30 second gel polish gives you 15 days of glossy
colour, dries instantly for smudge free nails and is UV and LED
compatible.
SPRAY TAN TECHNIQUES
Sunless spray tanning is safe and fast, creating the lasting effect of a
natural tan without the exposure to potentially damaging UVA and UVB
rays. As a beauty treatment it has a significant income opportunity for
salons.

ITEC PRO HAIRDRESSING | PART TIME PART TIME € 5995 If you are interested in our full time course but don’t have the time to commit then this part time option could suit you better. This ITEC Accredited Professional Hairdressing Course is a one year part time programme. This is ideal for the candidate with no experience, school leavers or someone working in the industry looking for an international recognised qualification. In this course students will cover everything needed to get them started as a junior hairstylist. PART TIME

This course is tailored to suit mature hairdressers / salon juniors who are
active in the industry for at least 4 years but may not have got their papers.
This course will enable you to fine tune your skills in a discreet programme
tailored to your salon commitments. At the end of this programme you
will be qualified and insurable, giving you peace of mind and credability.
Course scheduling allows you to continue to work in salon on Fridays and
Saturdays.
You will learn a range of techniques from creatively cuttiing and colouring
hair, to styling and dressing hair to bridal hairstyling and perming. We also
provide training in hair extension services and much more.

MARY OGILIVE
Mary has a wealth of experience in the training field being
one of South East’s leading educators for numerous years.
She has a vast knowledge of colour having completed. The
Loreal and Wella colour specialist degree. Mary commands
a high level of tutoring. The results show with her individual
care with her students.
MARGO KILKENNY
With over thirty years of hairdressing experience Margo
is an official educator and technician for Affinage Salon
Professional. Travelling and educating both nationally
and internationally working with some of the Britain’s
top hairstylist at their seminars, courses and shows. Her
work with Affinage allows her to educate everyone in the
hairdressing industry in the latest hair and colour trends
which are ongoing in the current hair industry.
SHARON SHEEHAN
Sharon is proprietor of award winning salon AC Pure. She
has worked as Artistic Director for Toni and Guy for 12 years.
Sharon owned a franchise for Toni and Guy Waterford and
was staff educator within the company. Specializing in cutting
and Red Carpet/ Bridal Hair having worked with a vast
celebrity clientele. She is a Wella Trend Vision winner and
has represented Ireland in the UK in recent years. She is also
the Image Magazine In-House Stylist and brings a wealth of
experience in photoshoots and styling models.
JOHNNY CROWE
Johnny has been in the Barbering trade for almost 30
years. He is proprietor of ‘The Barber Shop in Tramore Co.
Waterford. He also previously owned and ran two other
barbershops. He was an Assessor for VTCT in Mayo
College of Hairdressing and has a Master Craftsman
Diploma in Barbering.
