___________________________________________________________________________________Judges_______________ Jim Cox Jim Cox received his Bachelors in K-12 Music Education from Luther College and a Master’s Degree in Arts in Education from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Now in his twenty-second year of teaching, prior to Eagan High School, Jim’s experience has included teaching positions at Bloomington Kennedy High School and Lakeville South High School. Jim is in his twelfth year at Eagan where he directs three curricular choirs, three co-curricular choirs, and teaches voice lessons. In addition to ensembles, Jim is the vocal director for the summer community theater musical and co-director and vocal director for the school musical extravaganza, ENCORE!. Jim is a frequent judge and adjudicator at choir, show choir, and solo competitions throughout the Midwest. Jim has been a section coach for choirs and presenter at conferences for ACDA-MN and MMEA and is currently the co-chair for the ACDA-MN 9-10 TBB Honor Choir. Jim is also the vocal director of the Hosanna Church Christmas Production. In his free-time, Jim loves spending time with his wife Megan, who is a middle school choir director, and four kiddos. Melody Easter-Clutter Melody Easter-Clutter has been teaching vocal music and directing musicals for the last 33 years and is considered a leading expert in coaching young singers. Melody is currently the 9th grade choral director and Sound Advice Director at Johnston Middle School. She is the Music Director for Des Moines Performing Arts Musical Theater children summer camps, vocal and show choir clinician, judge, music conference speaker and presenter, private vocal coach, accompanist and author. Melody has published two music teacher’s curriculum through Alfred Music Publishing called “Ready, Set, Rhythm” and “Class Room Playlist”. Ms. Easter - Clutter has been awarded “Impact Award” at the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards, “Golden Apple Award” by Allied Insurance and Iowa’s News Channel 13 and in 2017 she was selected to direct the Iowa Choral Directors OPUS 7th and 8th Treble Choir. Melody has directed many musicals and her casts have been awarded and honored at the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards. One of her favorite moments as a director was co-directing the selected choir that performed with Kristin Chenoweth at the Des Moines Performing Arts. Melody received her Bachelor of Music Education from Drake University and has taken graduate courses at Arizona State University, Drake University and University of Northern Iowa.
___________________________________________________________________________________Judges_______________ Terrell Dean Mr. Terrell Dean or “Dean” as he is commonly known is a native of Hampton Roads and attended Radford University where he studied voice under Dr. Susan Kennedy. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Vocal Performance and English. Mr. Dean also attended Old Dominion University and studied voice under the amazing Dr. Brian Nevdvin. At ODU Mr. Dean studied Music Education and received his teaching license. With his love for the performing arts Mr. Dean has traveled around the world as a singer and dancer for: Spirit Cruises, Busch Gardens, Paramount's Kings Dominion, Roanoke Symphony, Nickelodeon, Stiletto Entertainment, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival Cruise Lines, Moon Maxx Production and Troika Entertainment doing National Broadway tours. He has opened shows at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg and Kings Dominion for the past three years. In 2014-15, he was the entertainer supervisor over live shows at Kings Dominion and has since returned as the park's choreographer and vocal coach. A proud brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Mr. Dean has been Co-directing, choreographing and show designing for show choirs since 2007. His groups have consistently won awards for Best Show Design, Best Choreography, Best Visuals, and Best Vocal Sound. Currently Mr. Dean teaches 6th grade choir at Powhatan Middle School and is the Director of Choral Activities at Powhatan High School where he teaches award winning concert and show choirs. Powhatan County has the distinct honor as being one of Virginia’s top ranked music programs and both the middle and high school are Blue Ribbon schools. Bringing structure, fun, energy, and enthusiasm to the classroom, Mr. Dean teaches life lessons through music and hopes to inspire students to continue their education in music to spread the excellence of music in America. Adam Peters Adam Peters is a freelance show choir clinician, show designer, collaborator, and adjudicator based out of Iowa. For over a decade, he has worked in clinic settings with numerous award - winning show choirs and adjudicated competitions in fifteen states. Adam is extremely proud of his 6 years as co-director of “River City Rhythm”, the varsity show choir at Muscatine H.S. in Muscatine, IA where he created innovative award-winning story /concept shows. In 2014, Adam was honored to receive the “Spirit of Service” ASPIRE award at the FAME National Championships in Chicago, IL. Adam has irons in many fires and is currently the Director of Operations for Clock, Inc, a LGBT+ community center non-profit in the Quad Cities. He previously worked as a Community Organizer and a Digital Associate on two Presidential campaigns in California, Iowa and Pennsylvania. Adam has background acted on shows like ABC’s The Goldbergs, FOX’s 9-1-1, Amazon’s Sneaky Pete. Adam and Alex Hall co-hosted SHOW CHOIR LIVE- an online talk show for three seasons and occasionally hosted live stream events for national competitions. In his spare time, Adam enjoys running (On On!) and playing legos and hide & seek with his nieces Juliet and Emmelyn. Adam is proud of his decade of involvement at Showchoir Camps of America and urges all to join the fun!
___________________________________________________________________________________Judges_______________ Chris Miller Chris Miller is in his 16th year as a High School Vocal Music Director. The first 9 years were spent in Mitchell, SD where Chris directed the award-winning Friend De Coup Show Choir. While in SD, Mr. Miller served as the Choral Chair for SDHSAA where he organized and managed the 1000-plus voice All-State Chorus for 3 years. He is now the Head Vocal Director at Wheaton Warrenville South High School in Wheaton, IL where he directs the Men's Chorale, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers and the Classics Show Choir. He also teaches Music Keyboarding and Rock and Roll History. In 2013, Chris was nominated for the Grammy Music Educator Award and was selected as one of 217 quarter finalists from a field of over 30,000 nominees. In 2011, Mr. Miller was selected for the National FAME Aspire “Best New Director” Award. He is active as an adjudicator for regional and national show choir festivals and has conducted regional choral festivals. Chris received his undergraduate BFA in Music Education from the University of South Dakota and an MA in Educational Policy and Administration from Dakota Wesleyan University. He's married to his amazing wife Mindy and together they have two children Madison (18 years) and Owen (16 years). _______________________________________________________________________Master of Ceremonies____________ Kyle Elbert Kyle is an alumnus parent of the Bloomington Kennedy choir program. He has been volunteering and supporting the program for almost 10 years. Musically, Kyle has received many accolades. He sat first chair in the 1981 Spencer Junior High alto saxophone section. He owns a set of harmonicas and is learning to play them. More recently, Kyle took home the best band award and was voted best male soloist during a performance at the 2021 Bloomington Gold Show Choir Competition.

Jive is directed by Zach Diedrich and Brian Ohnsorg, and choreographed by Tara Tober. The group is composed of 22 singers, 9 student band members, and 6 crew members. Jive’s 2022 competition set, RESCUE, is the story of the beauty and light that can come out of hardship. How when we are faced with adversity, we rely on our loved ones to rescue us during hard times, and we come out stronger on the other side. Intensity is comprised of students in grades 9-11 from Southview Middle School and Ankeny High School and is part of an award-winning, comprehensive vocal music program in Ankeny. Each year Intensity competes alongside Perpetual Motion and Visual Adrenaline at competitions across Iowa and the Midwest. This year Intensity’s show tells the story of a girl named Lucky, who strives to become a famous performer. However, after becoming famous and finding fame isn't everything it’s cracked up to be she has two choices: stay and continue her glamorous yet unhappy life or give up stardom and go back home. #FreeLucky Intensity would like to thank the countless parents, volunteers, and supporters who help make each season possible. Director: Rachael Demaree | Arrangers: Brock Keiper and Jeremy Landig | Choreographers: Matt Watson, Ben Eklund, and Melissa Eklund | Set Name: We Want the Airwaves Back Ovation is the junior varsity show choir at Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Ovation is one of six ensembles in Jefferson’s choral music program. Its members also participate in Bella Voce, Varsity Singers, Amabile Singers, and Meistersingers. Their 2022 competition season includes Linn-Mar High School’s “Supernova,” Bloomington Kennedy High School’s “Bloomington Gold,” Norwalk High School’s “Norwalk Nexus,” North Polk High School’s “Comet Sensation,” and Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School’s “Raise the Roof.” In March, Ovation and West Side Delegation, Jefferson’s varsity show choir, will host the 37th Annual Jefferson Show Choir Invitational. Highlights from past years include capturing several championship titles throughout the Midwest, best costumes award and best band award. They are accompanied by the amazing band known as “WATT.” This year The Current will be performing in Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota and Nebraska. Choreographed by Kevin Chase, The Current will be performing the songs, Hold On/Dreams, Long Train Runnin’, I See Stars and Don’t Stop Me Now. PM is composed of students in grades 9-12 from Southview Middle School and Ankeny High School, and is part of an award - winning, comprehensive vocal music program in Ankeny. Perpetual Motion 2022 consists of over 60 singers/dancers, 20 band members, and 10 crew members. PM is proud to introduce their 2022 set “Escaping a Nightmare”, which tells the story of a girl who finds herself trapped in a dream that morphs into a nightmare. As a love letter to the '80s classics that captivated a generation, Stranger Things is set in 1983 Indiana and features a group of mid-western 7th grade boys whose lives are turned “upside down” when one of them vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn supernatural creatures, and one very strange little girl who possesses incredible, mental superpowers of her own! This year, Salem Singsations will be competing at Viterbo, New London, Bloomington Kennedy, Eau Claire Memorial, La Crosse Logan & Hastings. WSD has been in existence since 1968, and is one of seven ensembles in Jefferson’s choral music program. Its members also participate in Bella Voce, Varsity Singers, and Meistersingers. West Side Delegation is under the direction of Patrick Fagan with choreography by Ben and Melissa Eklund. The band is under the direction of Matthew Nicholson. The theme of this year’s set, Better Days, shows us that although we have not been able to perform much in public the last two years, there are better days ahead!
