Since Matthew was writing primarily to a Jewish
community, his concern was to show that Jesus did
not come just for Jews, but for Gentiles as well. From
his very birth, Jesus not only manifests himself to
Jews, but also to Gentiles, who are prominently
included in the manifestation, symbolized by the Magi
and their journey. This is the most significant aspect
of the feast of Epiphany. How do you manifest Jesus
to all with whom you come into contact?

“Advertidos durante el sueño de que no volvieran a Herodes, regresaron a su
tierra por otro camino”.
Mt. 2, 12.
Querida familia, estamos en el tiempo en donde el Niño Dios ha nacido en nuestros
corazones. Debemos experimentar la alegría de ese nacimiento en nosotros de una
manera especial. El Niño a transformado nuestras vidas y lo hizo de una manera
nueva, admirable, maravillosa. ¿lo experimentas así?, significa que viviste a pleno este
tiempo previo de preparación y El ha transformado tu vida. Felicidades”. La frase del
Evangelio que elijo para esta oportunidad es: “Advertidos durante el sueño de que no
volvieran a Herodes, regresaron a su tierra por otro camino” Mt, 2; 12. En el sentido literal del texto podemos ver que
realmente los Reyes Magos vuelven por otro camino porque el emperador no tenía buenas intenciones para con el
Niño, el emperador no quería ir a adorarlo, el solo quería asesinarlo, lo vamos a ver luego cuando el “emperador
cubierto de ira porque los Reyes Magos no vuelven a decirle donde estaba el niño, manda a matar a todos los niños
de Belén y de su comarca menores de 2 años según el tiempo precisado por los Magos” (Mt 2; 16-18). Yo quiero
mostrar otro sentido más profundo de este Evangelio, más espiritual, para mi los Reyes Magos no vuelven por el
mismo camino porque en realidad quien se encuentra con Cristo jamás puede volver por el mismo camino, jamás
puede volver a la vida pasada reprochándose los errores y fragilidades, jamás puede seguir siendo la misma persona,
por eso los Reyes Magos hoy no vuelven por el mismo camino, ellos han sido tocados por el amor de Dios en la
profundidad de sus corazones y ya no pueden volver por el mismo camino porque el Niño los transformó. ¿lo pensaron
así alguna vez?, Es así, cuando nosotros nos encontramos con Cristo es imposible que podamos volver por el mismo
camino, . No lo podemos hacer más, tenemos que dejar atrás la vida del pasado y nuestros pecados y vivir la vida
nueva de hijos de Dios dada por el encuentro con Jesús. Este es el camino a realizar por cada uno. ahora hay un
nuevo camino y ese camino es una aventura que solo la regala Jesús

Evangelio de la Epifanía del Señor Mt 2; 1-12.
Jesús nació en Belén de Judá, en tiempos del rey Herodes. Unos magos de oriente llegaron entonces a Jerusalén y
preguntaron: “¿Dónde está el rey de los judíos que acaba de nacer? Porque vimos surgir su estrella y hemos venido a
adorarlo”.
Al enterarse de esto, el rey Herodes se sobresaltó y toda Jerusalén con él. Convocó entonces a los sumos sacerdotes y
a los escribas del pueblo y les preguntó dónde tenía que nacer el Mesías. Ellos le contestaron: “En Belén de Judá,
porque así lo ha escrito el profeta: Y tú, Belén, tierra de Judá, no eres en manera alguna la menor entre las ciudades
ilustres de Judá, pues de ti saldrá un jefe, que será el pastor de mi pueblo, Israel”.
Entonces Herodes llamó en secreto a los magos, para que le precisaran el tiempo en que se les había aparecido la
estrella y los mandó a Belén, diciéndoles: “Vayan a averiguar cuidadosamente qué hay de ese niño y, cuando lo
encuentren, avísenme para que yo también vaya a adorarlo”.
Después de oír al rey, los magos se pusieron en camino, y de pronto la estrella que habían visto surgir, comenzó a
guiarlos, hasta que se detuvo encima de donde estaba el niño. Al ver de nuevo la estrella, se llenaron de inmensa
alegría. Entraron en la casa y vieron al niño con María, su madre, y postrándose, lo adoraron. Después, abriendo sus
cofres, le ofrecieron regalos: oro, incienso y mirra. Advertidos durante el sueño de que no volvieran a Herodes,
regresaron a su tierra por otro camino.

“¿Dónde está el rey de los judíos
que acaba de nacer? Porque

del Señor le ofrendan “Oro,
porque era Rey, Rey de los Reyes,
incienso porque era Dios y mirra
porque era hombre y moriría
joven”. Los regalos de los Reyes

representan lo que es el Niño.
Ahora, los Reyes regalaron oro,
incienso y mirra, pero yo ¿Qué le
regalo a Dios?, esta pregunta
cabe en este día ya que así como
los Reyes Magos llevaron regalos
al niño nosotros también tenemos
que depositar nuestros regalos frente al niño. Durante mucho tiempo me reproche que mis regalo para Dios era muy
frágil, más que mi oración, muy pobre, y algunos ofrecimientos nunca le di demasiado a Dios, según lo que yo puedo
entender. Después de mucho tiempo entendí que lo mejor que le puedo ofrecer a Dios es mi vida con lo que soy y
tengo. En fin de cuentas lo que soy es lo que Dios me regalo desde la Intimidad Divina. Esto es un proceso que a
mucha gente nos lleva tiempo y que implica de nosotros una reflexión profunda porque no muchas veces lo vemos
así. Buscamos miles de forma de agradar a Dios cuando en realidad la mejor forma es dar lo que somos al Buen
Dios. ¿lo viste así alguna vez?, me gustaría que lo pensemos juntos y lo vivamos juntos. Dios no nos pide mucho, solo
nos pide a nosotros mismos y lo que somos con lo que tenemos y lo que tenemos es mucha veces más importante de
lo que pensamos. Nuestro oro, incienso y mirra son nuestras vidas y cuando nos acercamos a Dios con estas
ofrendas somos capaces de alegrar al mismo Señor con nuestras vidas. Entonces, ¿te animas a ofrendar tu oro, tu
incienso y tu mirra a Dios?... Lo hacemos juntos esta fiesta de la Epifanía del Señor. Rezo por ti, Padre Julio.

Horarios 2020.
Para este 2020, los horarios de la Adoraciones de los viernes continuará desde las 9am hasta a las 5pm en
la Catedral Santa María todos los viernes, y la Misa diaria será de martes a viernes en la Iglesia San José a
las 5:30pm el rezo del Santo Rosario y a las 6pm la Santa Misa –las Misas no son más en la Catedral San-
ta María de Lunes a viernes a las 8:30am-. El resto de los grupos irán informando sobre las actividades
programadas para cada uno de ellos. Este tiempo consideremos que debido a la pandemia hubo cambios
en las actividades programadas para el Corazón de Peoria.
Este Domingo 20 de Diciembre se llevó a cabo las Primeras comuniones en la comunidad del Corazón de
Peoria. Dejamos algunas memorias de tan lindo momento.
Después de mucho tiempo y en medio de la pandemia pudimos dar las Primeras comuniones en el Corazón
de Peoria, lo hicimos en tres grupos repartidos en la Misa de 7:30am en San José, 10:30am y 12;15pm en
la Catedral Santa María. Queremos agradecer de forma particular a las hermanas de la caridad, a Beatriz
Vargas y a los Catequistas que con tanto amor prepararon a los chicos para recibir su Primera Comunión.

ción de la Natividad de Nues-
tro Señor Jesucristo en Chuj -
El idioma Chuj es hablado
principalmente en algunas
regiones del departamento de
Huehuetenango, Guatemala,
así como en Chiapas, México.
Posee alrededor de 50,000
hablantes y es parte de la fa-
milia de lenguas mayenses-' Si bien a la capilla no llegó toda la comunidad por la Pandemia, pudimos celebrar juntos
la Celebración de la Palabra con las tradiciones propias del lugar. La celebración estuvo presidida por Nicolas Pascual,
actual encargado de la Comunidad de Guatemala y se contó con la Presencia del Padre Julio Faes. Ministerio Hispano
Diócesis de Peoria.
