Used Books - Book Bundles
Looking for books for the Holidays, over the past year, the PTA has collected lots of books. If you would like to receive a
bundle of gently used books before the Winter Break, please complete the google form indicating the gender of your
child and grade.

There is a basket by the door for you to place the gifts. Please have the individual teacher’s name on the gift so there are no errors. If possible, please call the office at 240-740-4260 after the drop off to let us know. Reminder: MCPS ethics policy states that MCPS staff members are not allowed to accept individual gifts over $20.00 in cost. It can be higher if it is a class gift where there are numerous contributors from the class. We thank all of you for your generosity and understanding. Please know that we love the work we do for your children. Montgomery County Council of PTAs (MCCPTA) Discussion on Re-Opening MCPS zoom_0.mp4 Video link to a recording of a recent zoom meeting with two elementary school principals discussing various models of reopening. This was part of a newly formed committee, ENGAGE, that meets monthly to discuss current and critical topics related to students and families within the MCPS community during the current Covid-19 Pandemic. 5th Grade BINGO Winners! Congratulations to all the 5th graders who came to Bingo on Friday night. It was a great night of virtual Bingo. The following winners will be receiving a $5 gift card delivered to their house this week. Buddy Program for Kindergartners and now welcoming First Graders! The JLES PTA launched the Buddy Program earlier this year. We pair up students and/or families (one 5th Grade Mentor, with one Kindergartner or First Grader) to provide some extra support for your Jones Lane Jaguar! We currently have about ten 5th Graders waiting to be paired with a Kindergartener/First Grader. To sign up, complete the Google Form titled Kindergarten/1st Grade-5th Grade Buddy Program, JLES, https://forms.gle/ J3PKozJaSUDzd2Lc7. We will pair up buddies on a rolling basis - so you can join anytime. Through out the year, we will also provide suggestions of how to start communication, along with monthly writing prompts for the kids. Questions? The MCPS Educational Foundation, Inc.; the Montgomery County Council of Parent Teacher Association, Inc.’s volunteer network; and MCPS are asking the community to support the Families Helping Families campaign. Grocery gift cards will be purchased with funds donated to the MCPS Educational Foundation, Inc.’s Crisis Relief Fund—COVID-19. Learn more about how to donate here. RMS PTSA Emergency Food Pantry Request Form The RMS PTSA has established an Emergency Food Pantry to help students, families, and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. This service is for low-income members of the RMS school community and may be open to QOHS cluster schools as quantities allow. The process is simple- come take food when you need it, give food when you can. No sign-ups or questions. Look for the “Bobcat Box” next to the flagpole in front of the school. Box Tops For Education to Support JLES
An easy way to help raise money for our school is to scan and clip Box Tops. Any clipped Box Tops should be kept at
home and when we are back in-person, you can send them in to the school with your student(s). Please keep clipping
and collecting all year round.
Box Tops 4 Education is in the process of changing the program to be digital. Download the Box Tops App and all you
have to do is create an account, link it to Jones Lane Elementary School and scan your store receipts (within 14 days of
purchase) and funds are automatically allocated to our school. Here’s a short video on how the app
