Island
In the morning, we will take an excursion to Lobos Island which
means “Sea Lion Island”. Here you will find noisy, playful, jolly
sea lions who will welcome you to their home with open, well,
fins. The island also offers small population of blue – footed boo-
bies, frigates, marine iguanas, and great frigate birds nesting that
can be observed. Snorkeling with sea lions in this calm bay is part
of our activity today!
In the afternoon, we will sail towards Kicker Rock, this striking
rock formation is located a couple hours off the western shore
of San Cristobal, an impressive geological formation due to
erosion. This is a nesting place of sea birds such as blue- footed
boobies, Nazca boobies, rfigate birds and a nice spot to take pic-
tures while the vessels circumnavigate around the rock.

Day 6 – Thursday, May 20: Española Island
This morning, we will trail to Suarez Point, an area with an
outstanding variety of wildlife. The walking trail will take you past
nesting sites of Nazca and blue-footed boobies, whilst Galapagos
doves, mockingbirds and finches can be seen foraging nearby.
This island is the breeding site of nearly all of the world’s 12,000
pairs of waved albatrosses. You will also pass a geyser which
can spray water up to 25m into the air; a spectacular feat of
nature.
In the afternoon, our excursion continues to Gardner Bay, a
pristine white sandy beach (one of the longest in the Galapagos),
that is home to colonies of sea lions and inquisitive mockingbirds.
It is also one of the world’s most important breeding sites for the
waved albatross.
A short dinghy ride will take you to the Osborn and Gardner Islets,
which are superb locations for snorkeling with young sea lions
and a greater variety of tropical fish and corals.

This morning we will land on a nice sandy beach in Post Office
Bay. On our way, we will spot a n 18th century mail-box that
whalers placed years ago, a wooden barrel that is used until
today as an unofficial mail box. This custom continues wit
Galapagos visitors. So, don’t forget your postcards, and
don’t be surprised if the post card arrives to its destination
before you even get home!
We will continue to Baroness Viewing Point, a fantastic place
to absorb the environment of the Galapagos. Once inhabited
by an indulgent baroness and her three lovers, the history of
this island is intriguing. The legends about this baroness are
associated with a fascinating murder mystery. There are easy
trails in this area for exploring the flora and fauna of Floreana.
After lunch, our journey continues to Cormorant Point, that
hosts a large flamingo lagoon where other birds such as
common stilts and white-cheeked pintails can also be seen.
The beaches on this island are distinct: The Green Beach is
named so due to its green color, which comes from a high
percentage of olivine crystals in the sand, and the Four Sand
Beach is composed of white coral.
