This exciting design competition is aimed at emerging creatives and designers
aged 16-24. We would like you to design Junction Arts’ first fundraising marathon
vest, which will be worn at the London Marathon 2021 by our runner Glen.
You will need to present a design for both the front and back of the vest. Using
the template create a unique design which best represents our charity. This
should be eye catching, bold and include our logo. Prizes will be up for grabs for
the winning design. Your design will be used in the creation of the final shirt.

Who are Junction Arts:
Junction Arts is a Derbyshire charity who give communities facing social issues
such as loneliness, poor health and low aspirations the chance to make a better
future for themselves using the arts. Predominantly embedded in communities
across North East Derbyshire and the Bolsover District, they are the force behind
the annual events Tapton Lock Festival and Bolsover Lantern Parade.

The charity works with everyone across the community from school children
and young carers to older people and those living in care homes who are
isolated from their loved ones. Their festivals, workshops and events offer the
chance for people to be creative, learn new skills and build stronger
communities.

Your Brief:
Design Junction Arts’ first marathon vest to be worn by charity fundraisers and at
the London Marathon 2021.

You’re Invited To:
On Thursday 15th April, 7-8pm we will be hosting a Competition Zoom Event.
There will be a live discussion with our marathon runner Glen and Marketing
Coordinator JJ, on what to consider when designing your vest, as well as a creative
activity that may inspire your design.

>Final deadline for all entrees is 11:59pm Saturday 1st May.

How can I submit my final design?
>If you are submitting entrees by email, please send to either
hannah@junctionarts.org or info@junctionarts.org before the time stated above.
If for whatever reason your file size is too big, please contact Hannah before
Friday 30th April to arrange a wetransfer or dropbox delivery.
>If you are submitting entrees by post, please make sure they arrive before
Saturday 1st May to Junction Arts Vest Competition, West Studios Studio 1,
Sheffield Road, Chesterfield, S41 7LL. We will accept postal entrees that arrive
after the 1st May with an earlier post mark. Junction Arts is unable to return any
postal applications.
>If you are submitting entrees via the West Studios Reception, please check their
opening hours and when someone will be available to accept it. You can confirm
this by checking their website and social media.

How is the winner decided?
>One winner and two runners up will be decided by a panel of 4 people, made up
of Junction Arts staff, Trustees, Supporters and London Marathon Runner, Glen.
Each winner will receive a prize kindly donated by a supporting business.

What will happen to my design if I win?
>The winner’s design will be used to make the final marathon vest design. Along
with a prize, the winner will receive their own printed vest.
>Artwork and designs submitted will belong to Junction Arts, for marketing and
promotional materials. Please give your permission to be named and credited for
the design work.

Data Protection
All personal data submitted through this competition is kept securely and for no
longer than necessary. We will also keep this information for monitoring and
reporting purposes. All information is kept secure at all times and participants
have the right to access this information.
