avoiding single-use plastics.

Plastic Free July is marked by
nearly 160 countries now and
aims to raise global awareness
about the problems presented
by single-use disposable plastic
and challenge people to do
something about it.

One young person who’s doing
her bit locally is Kira Whittaker.
She recently launched a Facebook
group called ‘Plasticwise Darebin’
that aims to help people reduce
waste – particularly the amount
of plastic ending up in landfill
and our oceans.
