OUR STORY
Starting in 1906 as a Swiss family owned, cement
moulding company, KGS, since 1952 has
transformed into a world leading flexible diamond
abrasives company. KGS, for the past 67 years, has
been manufacturing premium flexible diamond
abrasives for grinding and polishing of hard, brittle
materials.
KGS is located in 15 countries and on 4 continents,
including 6 factories and 20 sales offices. Production is
based mainly in our European factories. Our products
are used in many markets such a glass, stone &
construction, ceramic, super hard coatings, composites
and porcelain.
We supply solutions to industries such as automotive,
aviation, railway, aerospace, dental, watches, porcelain,
glass, ceramics, composites, stone and construction,
telecommunication, oil and gas and wind power.
KGS is a technology driven company regularly applying
for patents and bringing innovations to the abrasive’s
world. The control of complex technologies such as
metallized fabrics, electroplating, metal bond and resin
bond sintering, moulded resin expertise, spray coating
and standard coated abrasives technologies allows for
technological synergies and truly unique innovations.

QUALITY
The ultimate in Swiss Diamond Technology® is the
cornerstone of the KGS philosophy. The dedication of
KGS top management has resulted in a certification to
ISO 9001:2015. KGS policy is aimed at continuously
improving its processes, procedures and products. KGS
employs several local employees dedicated to Quality
management, as well as a full-time Group Quality
Officer. Ultimately, all of our manufacturing plants will
fall under our group-wide quality certificate.

KGS’s Research & Development team is continually creating
and patenting new products, offering cost effective

KGS was the first ever manufacturer to offer KGS Swiflex®
Flexible Diamond Abrasives designed for dry grinding and
polishing glass, marble and granite. More recent
developments include applications in aerospace and
electronics including mobile phones. KGS is also specialized
in high-precision Metalized Fabrics for applications in
screen printing, filtration and electromagnetic shielding
industries. KGS business philosophy is based upon principles
focusing on the customer, providing superior products and
