Whoever decided to title the Taiwan Lantern Festival with such a simple moniker was either a
master of the understatement or had no idea just how big this event would become. This
humble description doesn‟t do proper justice to what is surely one of the world‟s most stunning
installations of light. It‟s Taiwan‟s answer to New Year‟s Eve on Sydney Harbour.

Taiwan‟s glittering Lantern Festival, Starting on the first full moon of the Lunar year, it
provides a spectacular backdrop for this art and cultural tour of Taiwan. Only their version
goes for much longer than our half an hour of intense sky-painting. It‟s a fortnight-long gala
that will leave your mouth agape. There‟s a serious „wow‟ factor in it, on several levels. Taiwan
has so much to offer the tourist, natural beauty, rare wildlife, modern cities, ethnic diversity,
arts and cultures, intriguing folk traditions and tantalizing food. This 11 day tour brings you
the most popular sights and experiences and is ideal for the first time visitor to Taiwan.
