Governor Abbott Urges Land Owners Affected By Border Crisis
To Submit Self Reporting Damage Survey

Governor Greg Abbott is urging Texas land owners in border communities
who have been affected by the influx of unlawful immigration to complete
the state's Self Reporting Damage Survey to help identify damages suffered
by land owners along the border and inform the state's ongoing efforts to
secure the border.

“I strongly encourage Texas land owners along the border to report any
personal property damages they incur due to unlawful immigration," said
Governor Abbott. "By completing the Self Reporting Damage Survey, our
state will be equipped with the necessary data to continue addressing the
ongoing crisis at our southern border and provide the support our land
owners and communities need to stay safe and secure.”

The voluntary survey, available in both English and Spanish, can be
accessed by visiting: http://damage.tdem.texas.gov. Reporting damage
is a voluntary activity, is not a substitute for reporting damage to an
insurance agency, and does not guarantee disaster relief assistance.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

1. Satellite derived surface wind data indicate that the non-tropical
area of low pressure, located several hundred miles southeast of
Cape Race, Newfoundland, is producing winds below gale force and
limited showers and thunderstorms. Although environmental
conditions are only marginally favorable during the next couple of
days, some slight development is possible as it drifts generally
southward over warmer waters. Toward the end of the week, the low
is expected to accelerate north-northeastward and open up into a
trough of low pressure in response to an approaching frontal system
moving off of the New England coast.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...10 percent.
Lavaca County Fire Weather

Lavaca County Fire Danger Level: LOW (GREEN)
When the fire danger is low it means that fuels do
not ignite easily from small embers, but a more
intense heat source, such as lightning, may start
fires in duff or dry, rotten wood.

Flipping OFF the Switch on HOT Emergency Medical Vehicle Responses
It continues to be all of our goals to have a safe EMS system for the patients we treat and transport and our
dedicated workforce, to this end PLEASE take the time to view the webinar below and share with your membership.
A special thanks to Matt Zavadsky for making this webinar available for all of us to learn from!

Thank You,
Joseph W. Schmider,
State EMS Director

How many people are injured or killed during a HOT response by EMS
                                 vehicles?

How many EMS providers have been injured or killed during a HOT
                                 response?

Is there any difference in patient outcomes from a HOT or COLD response?

What REALLY is the public's expectation when it comes to HOT responses?

What are the things that are preventing people from calling 911 for EMS
(hint - it's the 'spectacle' it creates)?

Get the answers to those questions and more!
