                         Cattle Raisers Association president

W elcome to the 2019 Cattle Raisers Convention, Fort Worth. The
members of Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association
(TSCRA) are honored to host this annual event on behalf of all ranchers
and landowners in Texas, Oklahoma and the Southwest.
By attending this convention and taking advantage of all the
opportunities to learn, you are making a wise investment in your ranch
business.
Our theme is “Learn, Shop, Enjoy, Connect” and this weekend has been
designed to help you do just that.
Learn at our School for Successful Ranching classes and in the
demonstrations in the Expo. I invite you to the General Session to hear
Bret Baier, FOX News Special Report host, share his unique perspective
on Congress and politics inside the Beltway. Our information sessions
will help you learn about TSCRA’s work to reform eminent domain laws
in Texas to provide all landowners with a fair system, about international
beef trade, and about our U.S. consumers and more.
Shop in the largest ranching Expo, with more than 250 exhibitors.
We thank our exhibitors every year for bringing their best goods and
services to the Cattle Raisers Expo.
Enjoy the many social events – receptions in the Expo, alumni
receptions, Cow Camp for our youngest members and the very popular
Cattle Raisers Dinner and Dance.
Connect with your fellow ranchers and landowners. TSCRA members
and the speakers and teachers are more than happy to share their real-
world experience with solving the problems unique to ranching and
agricultural business.
Thank you for being a part of the 2019 Cattle Raisers Convention
and Expo. If you are not a member of TSCRA, I invite you to join over
the weekend. It is our privilege to work on behalf of ranchers. Your
membership will help us continue to improve.

CATTLE RAISERS CONVENTION EVENT INFORMATION
The Cattle Raisers Convention is the annual convention of Texas and
Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA). This event comprises the
annual TSCRA School for Successful Ranching and the Cattle Raisers Expo.
Events and Functions
Unless noted, all convention activities will be held at the Fort Worth
Convention Center (FWCC), 1201 Houston Street, Fort Worth, Texas 78102,
817-392-2537.
Daily Agendas
Daily convention agendas are listed in this handbook and are available on The
Cattleman NOW smartphone app, a TSCRA member benefit.
Wear Your Convention Badge
The convention badge should be worn to all convention activities. Your badge
will admit you to the Expo, all business meetings, sponsored events and
functions not requiring a ticket. Your badge is for your use only. Additional
badges are available at Registration at package prices. Lost badges will be
reprinted at Registration for a pro-rated fee.
Media
Members of the media should contact Jeremy Fuchs, TSCRA director of
public affairs, at jfuchs@tscra.org or 512-496-8663. Media representatives,
including those who pre-registered, must register at the registration desk.
Crisis Management for Activist Protesters
If protesters interrupt TSCRA’s meetings, please ignore them. Their goal is to
create attention. They have a constitutional right to picket, and any attention
you give them will only help them. TSCRA staff will handle these situations
and we depend on your cooperation. If you are approached by the media
for an interview, please politely direct them to a TSCRA staff member or to
TSCRA’s registration desk. An appropriate spokesperson will be contacted.
Convention Audio Files Available Online
Selected presentations at the Cattle Raisers Convention will be available
shortly after the convention at www.tscra.org.
What Your Registration Fee Covers
Our meeting sponsors help defray some of the costs, but many remain.
TSCRA does not realize net income from registration fees. All or some of
your expenses incurred while attending the annual convention may be tax
deductible. Please consult your accountant or tax attorney.
Consent to Use Photographic Images
Registration and attendance at or participation in TSCRA meetings and
other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant or attendee to
TSCRA’s use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the registrant
or attendee’s image.
Liability Statement
TSCRA is not responsible for the loss of your personal articles or personal
injury while attending the Cattle Raisers Convention and Expo or any of its
related events.
Medical/Emergencies
In case of fire or a medical emergency, call 911. For non-emergency matters,
contact TSCRA staff in Room 102.

Youth Contests
Be sure to check out the artwork, photographs, and essays
submitted by our young Cattle Raisers at the display in the
concourse outside the Expo hall.
We thank all who worked hard and sent in their best for this
contest.
Your vote for your favorite piece of artwork, photograph and
essay will determine the People’s Choice Awards for this
year’s contest.
The winners of each age category will be announced at the
Closing Brunch on Sunday, March 31.
Those winners will receive cash prizes:
First place $250 cash prize
Second place $150 cash prize
Third place $100 cash Prize
New this year are independent volunteer judges who are
professional artists and writers, which is sure to encourage
our young’uns!
Watch for a special announcement at the Closing Brunch
about the winning piece of artwork or photography!
