WHAT WE ARE DOING TO KEEP YOU SAFE:

At MDA we take the health and safety
of our dancers, families and staff very
seriously. We take great responsibly in
providing a positive experience for our
 students. As always, your children’s
physical and mental health will be top
         priority at our studio.

All of our classes have a reduced capacity of 8 kids per class. Both dance studios have been marked with floor tapping
at a safe 3 meters apart to ensure proper social distancing during class.
Our reduced capacity paired with the staggering of classes will also help to reduce traffic in our lobbies, and our
   entrances and exits.
Increased cleaning measures have been implemented which include high touch areas in every dance room being
cleaned between each class. Bathrooms and lobbies will be cleaned and disinfected throughout each day and will be
thoroughly cleaned each night after classes end.
Dance rooms and lobbies have been decluttered and all non-essential class items have been removed to allow for
thorough cleaning and to eliminate cross contact between students.
We have removed shared equipment to limit cross-contact and contamination. We believe these class props are a fun
& important part of our Pre-School classes so each dancer is required to purchase their very own Prop Bag for these
   classes.
All lobbies and waiting areas will be closed this year to parents to limit bodies within the studio space.
To limit traffic inside our studios, we have decided to close our in-person office hours at this time. We are always happy
to help you via phone or email.
If you wish to meet with us in-person, please contact us to arrange a meeting time.
Our year round used shoe sale facilitated through our office will be closed this year. Please visit our Facebook Group at
“Mahogany Dance Arts shoes + apparel buy and sell” to purchase & sell you items.

BEFORE YOUR DANCERS FIRST CLASS:

• Ensure you have read through & signed the liability waiver in your Jack Rabbit parent portal account. This will have already been included
in your check out process.

• Ensure your child is pre-registered in their classes as no walks in’s will be accepted.

• Review the following 4 self-assessment questions with your dancer prior to each and every class / day of dance:
1. Do you have any of the following? Fever, Cough, Difficulty breathing, Sore throat, Trouble swallowing, Runny nose, Loss of taste or smell,
Not feeling well.
2. Have you been in close contact with someone who is sick or has confirmed Covid-19 in the past 14 days?
3. Have you, or anyone in your household returned from travel outside of Canada in the past 14 days?
4. Are you currently being investigated as a suspected case of COVID-19?

• Arrive fully dressed & ready for class (including hair in a neat & tidy bun for all classes except Hip Hop). Dancers holding area/changeroom
will be closed.

• Limit personal belongings & only bring what is necessary for your class in 1 single dance bag. Please ensure everything your dancer is
bring to class can be fit into this bag except for their outdoor shoes & jackets. Dancers will also be provided with a bin upon arrival to hold all
outdoor attire & dance bags during class time.

• Please fill your dancers water bottle before arriving to the studio.

• Don’t forget your prop kits or supplies needed for class. Any dancer which forgets cannot be given another one simply due to our no touch
policy.

• Mahogany Dance Arts is choosing to follow Calgary By-law and will require all parents (Rock with your Tot classes) and dancers ages 2+ to
wear a mask upon entering and exiting the studio, and when in the lobbies and washrooms & during class time.

• Dancers in Disney Make Believe Ballet & Hippity Hop 3/4 yrs can also remove their masks during class time. All other ages & dancers
masks will remain on during class time.

• We will give the dancers ample drink & mask breaks throughout the class.

• Teachers and staff will be masked at all times.

• Remind your child to please smile and wave from a distance. Air hugs and air high fives only please!!!

• We are SO excited to see you!

DANCER ARRIVAL, ENTRY & EXIT

Once you arrive for your class:

• A Mahogany Dance Arts parking DROP AND GO area has been designated in front of the studio. This area is marked with a sign & pylons.
We ask parents to ONLY drop & go in this area as to allow as many parents as possible to utilize the space to drop off their child.
• Parents are welcome to stand in the lineup outside of the studio with their child until they are admitted into the studio or can wait in your car
where you can see your child on the 2 benches in front of the studio doors.
• Parents of children aged 6 yrs & under are required to wait in the line with their child.
• Social distancing markers have been placed on the concrete, so children know where to stand. As general rule when looking at the front
studio doors from the parking lot we say: “Arrive to the Right & Leave to the Left” to ensure limited congestion & safe distance.
• Once your child has entered the studio you are welcome to get some errands done or grab a coffee knowing your child is in good hands
with us!
• Please do not arrive earlier then 5-10 minutes prior to class as we have allotted 15 minutes between classes to get the previous class out
of the studio clean & get the next class in. Each step taking 5 minutes.
• Please be on-time when picking up your child. This is crucial in order for these new systems & protocols to work.
• One child at a time when checking in for class where there will be a MANDATORY temperature check as well as reassurance you have
completed the 4 self-assessment questions before arriving.
• Dancers with a temperature of over 37.5 will be asked to wait & attend class the following week. NO EXCEPTIONS
• Dancers will remove their outdoor shoes & place them on the shoes rack, use the hand sanitizer station & head straight into the studio
where they can remove their outdoor clothing & put on their dance shoes.
• Once they are in their square, they can remove their mask.
• Please remind your child no gathering in the lobby space.
• Then we DANCE!!!

We will have a zero-tolerance policy for sending any sick dancers to class. If a child becomes sick while at class, they will be isolated in a
separate area from others. The child will be asked to wash their hands, put on a mask and their parents will be contacted to pick them up
immediately. Any items or areas that child has come into contact with will be promptly cleaned and disinfected. Please ensure all contact info
is updated within your parent portal.

Class is over, we have had an awesome class & now it is time to go home:

• Children will change back into their outdoor clothing with the teachers/staff's assistance & be guided out of the studio where they will put on
their outdoor shoes & re-use the hand sanitizer station before exiting the studio
• Once again PLEASE BE ON-TIME WHEN PICKING UP YOUR CHILD. THIS IS CRUCIAL IN ORDER FOR THESE NEW SYSTEMS &
PROTOCOLS TO WORK.
