DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY
1.1. IDENTIFICATION OF THE ACTIVITY.
The event that will give name to the prepared documentation is called:
XXIX IRONMAN LANZAROTE CANARY ISLANDS TRIATHLON
The purpose of this report is to offer information to the different groups that will participate
in the development of the sports event called XXIX IRONMAN LANZAROTE CANARIAS
TRIATHLON, which consists of a sports competition that will have a maximum participation of 1,000
triathletes and that will be complemented with the availability of a series of temporary and
removable facilities for the correct development of the event.
With all the above and in view of the existing health situation, in which the situation of
Pandemic by the Coronavirus Sars-COV-2, which originates the disease known as COVID-19, is
declared by the World Health Organization and in order to comply with the state and regional
regulations in force at the time of the drafting of this report in what regarding the celebration of the
sporting event, it is necessary to establish the conditions that must be respected until the end of
the Pandemic or, until the specific regulatory regulations establish different criteria or the one
currently in force.

1.2. TIME SCHEDULE.
FRIDAY, JULY 2, 2021
• From 15:00 to 20:00 hours. Opening the TRANSITION ZONE 1 (PLAYA GRANDE,
AVENIDA LAS PLAYAS) for check-in of participants, by blocks of 200 participants every
hour:
o From 15:00 to 16:00 hours. Reception 1st shift participants.
o From 16:00 to 17:00 hours. Reception 2nd shift participants.
o From 17:00 to 18:00 hours. Reception 3rd shift participants.
o From 18:00 to 19:00 hours. Reception 4th shift participants.
o From 19:00 to 20:00 hours. Reception 5th shift participants.
SATURDAY, JULY 3, 2021
• From 05:00 to 10:00 hours. Opening of transition zone 1 (PLAYA GRANDE, AVENIDA LAS
PLAYAS). Reception of participants.
o From 05:00 to 05:45 hours. Reception 1st shift participants (500 participants).
o From 05:45 to 06:45 hours. Reception 2nd shift participants (500 participants).
• From 07:00 to 09:42 hours. Swimming segment development.
• From 07:50 to 18:52 hours. Cycling segment development.
• From 13:00 to 00:22 hours. Marathon segment development.
• From 18:50 hours. Opening of the Check-out.
SUNDAY, JULY 4, 2021
• 00:22 hours. Meta closure. MARATHON.

1.3. TRANSITION ZONES.
The development of the sports event, due to the preventive measures implemented in the field
of prevention of the spread of SARS-CoV-2, will be located in two different locations described
below:
1.3.1. TRANSITION ZONE 1. PLAYA GRANDE.
The Transition Zone 1 will be located on Avenida de las Playas at the height of Playa Grande and
in this space the area will be arranged in which participants will check-in on July 2, 2021 and
make the access to the Playa Grande to take the exit of the swimming segment on July 3, 2021.
The access for the participants will be made by the East zone of the facilities arranged on the
Avenida de Las Playas of Puerto del Carmen, while the personnel of the Organization will do it by
the West zone, as shown below:

Only those accredited by the organization and participants will be able to access the interior of the
facilities.

1.3.2. TRANSITION ZONE 2. PLAZA DE LAS NACIONES.
Transition Zone 2 will be located in the Plaza de Las Naciones and in this space the transition
zone between the Cycling and Marathon segments will be arranged.
The goal of the race and the post-race services will also be located in this space in the interior
of the enabled enclosure.
Finally, the check-out of the participants will also take place in this space.

In this location, there will be an access enabled for the emergency services to the interior of the
facilities, differentiated from the access of the personnel authorized for the personnel of the
Organization and those participants for the realization of the Check-out.

PREVENTIVE MEASURES
2.1. ACCESS AND EXIT TO THE FACILITIES.
• To be able to access the facilities in any of the sites defined in the previous section, you must
be in possession of an ACCREDITATION, either as a staff of the ORGANIZATION or, where
appropriate, as a PARTICIPANT of the race.
• It will only be possible to access through the areas enabled to each group and always within
the schedule established in section 1.2 of this document.
• In the area of access to the facilities there will be an ACCESS CONTROL in which, a Private
Security Guard, will verify the identity of the people who access the interior of the enclosure,
at the same time that a body temperature will be taken by means of digital infrared thermometer
dispensing of hydroalcoholic gel and verification of the use of the mask.
• The stay inside the authorized enclosures at both sites is subject to compliance with the
preventive measures for the spread of SARS-CoV-2 and the indications given by the Ministry of
the Organization. In case of non-compliance, you must leave the premises.
• Inside the facilities, the direction of traffic with signs must be followed, so as to guarantee
the unidirectional flow of all people who are in the area, avoiding as far as
possible the crossing of people. In addition, in waiting areas, the interpersonal safety
distance of at least 1.5 meters must be maintained at all times.

2.2. Participants.
• Participants must wear their masks until the time of departure from the Swimming Segment.
The EXIT will be carried out in a staggered way and moments before it, the participants
will remove the mask and discard it in some garbage tanks enabled by the organization in the
same line of Departure. The use of non-reusable masks is recommended.
• At the time prior to the start of the competition (in the call chamber of the swimming segment)
there will be marks and / or beacons that determine the location of each participant,
guaranteeing the interpersonal distanc between them.
• During the development of the test in its different segments the interpersonal distance of
safety with respect to the other participants of at least 2.00 meters must be respected,
as far as possible.
• Upon arrival at META, the Organization staff will provide each participant with a mask, which
must be placed at that time and always before accessing the facilities of the race where the
post-race services will be found.
2.3. STAFF OF THE ORGANIZATION.
• The staff of the Organization will access the facilities at the scheduled times according to
the functions assigned to each of them and following the internal work schedule. The number of
people who will have access to the interior of the installations will be the minimum necessary
for the realization of the appropriate tasks for the development of the sporting event.
• Each person must have an official accreditation, which will be nominated and will allow the
rapid identification of this. It will not be possible to access the interior of the facilities if you do
not have accreditation. In case of loss, you must contact the Organization for the management
of the incident.
• The access of the personnel of the Organization will be made by the specific areas enabled,
with the aim of minimizing the crossing of the different groups that will access the interior
of the facilities and always in compliance with the measures established in the section
2.1. of this document.

• The personnel of the Organization, as well as any person who is authorized to access the
interior of the enclosures that define the two transition zones, must wear a mask at all times.
They can only withdraw it at the time when they are ready to consume a food or drink and
always in the areas designated for it.
2.4. REFRESHMENT POSTS IN RACE.
Because in the Cycling and Marathon Segments some refreshment posts will be established
for the participants, it is necessary to establish a series of preventive measures:
• The personnel of the Organization that is in the Refreshment Posts of the Cycling Segment, will
be in charge of delivering the products to the runners who demand it, thus avoiding that they
can approach the area in which they are located and can handle them freely.
• The staff of the Organization that is in the Refreshment Posts of the Marathon Segment, will
be the runners themselves who remove the product from the tables arranged. Those products
without wrapping or that are consumed directly, will be delivered in individualized and closed
glasses, previously prepared by the organization, and placed with the appropriate distance.
• Those foods such as fruit, which must be prepared in advance, will be disposed of in closed
trays and can only be handled by authorized persons in compliance with the preventive
measures.
• As regards the supply of beverages, they will be dispensed in single-use cups and will be
discarded after use by the party in the waste depots in the vicinity of the Supply Posts.
• Due to the high exposure to which the Organization's personnel at the Victualling Posts will
be exposed, precautions should be taken in the application of preventive measures against the
spread of SARS-CoV-2.
o Use of self-filtering mask type FFP2.
o Use of facial screen.
o Frequent hand hygiene.

2.5. REFRESHMENT OF GOAL.
In the Transition Zone located in the Plaza de Las Naciones of Puerto del Carmen, once the sports
event is concluded by the participant, a picnic bag will be delivered to each participant, which will
be delivered in the area enabled to the effect. Therefore, it is necessary to apply the following
preventive measures:
• The participant who is inside the Transition Zone and who wishes to remove his picnic bag,
must wear the mask at all times.
• Once the bag has been removed, the participant will be able to access some enabled areas
inside the Plaza de Las Naciones where you can consume its content.
• It is not allowed to modify the location of the seats enabled for the consumption of food and
drink supplied to the participant, and must remain at all times at a minimum interpersonal
distance of 2.00 meters.
• The mask can only be removed at the time of intake of food and drink and must be put on once
it has finished.
• At the end of the meal, the participant will discard the material in the waste tanks that are in
the area.

2.6. PODIUM.
The podium area will be located in the Plaza de Las Naciones, in a location close to the finish
area, having a perimeter area, allowing access only to authorized personnel. The preventive
measures to be applied shall be as follows:
• Only the athletes who are going to climb the podium, the authorities that will make the deliveries
and the staff and volunteers who manage the deliveries can remain in this area.
• Only accredited media may remain in the area designated for delivery.
• Athletes may remove the mask only for the time of the photo. Before getting off the podium
they must put it back on.
• The distance of two meter between the participants who climb the podium will be guaranteed.
