LAURELS AND AWARDS:

SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENTS:

Festival of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (FINE):
The Festival of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (FINE) is a unique initiative of the
Office of the President of India, Department of Science & Technology (DST) and
National Innovation Foundation (NIF) to recognize, respect and reward selected top
60 students from National level of INSPIRE MANAK Award.
Aayush Bhansali from DPS Greater Noida, who was among top 60 students,
participated in the event at Gandhinagar (Gujrat), from 15th March to 18th March
2019. Honourable President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, inaugurated the event,
interacted with all students and appreciated their creativity and innovation. Team NIF
discussed the idea in detail for Patent. Various dignitaries and manufacturers
listened to the presented projects and appreciated efforts made by the students.

DPS GR. NOIDA AS A PROUD HOST OF VARIOUS
EVENTS:

THE FOUNTAIN OF WISDOM: ANNUAL PRESENTATION OF KP- V

DPS Knowledge Park – V presented - The Fountain of Wisdom – Its Annual
Function on March 16, 2019. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Ms. Vrinda
Sarup IAS (retd.), Member DPS Society and SCM, DPSGN. Prof. B. P Khandelwal,
Chairman DPS Greater Noida presided over the function.
The programme was initiated with the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony, to the
melodious rendition of shlokas. Thereafter, students presented a Sufi Qawalli – Aya
tere der pe deewana, which left the audience spell bound.

The next presentation was a colourful amalgam of Arabian Tales of Alibaba, Aladin
and Sindbad. The young actors from classes Nursery to class I put up a spectacular
show depicting these heros.

Bharat ki Dharohar was the play sought to bring forth the timeless wisdom that is
embedded in the stories of our heros – both real and mythological. The crowing glory
was the dance presentation – Mera murshid khele holi – in celebration of Holi.
The Chief Guest, Ms. Vrinda Swarup exhorted the parents to encourage their
children to cultivate their inherent curiosity.Prof. B. P Khandelwal asked the parents
to help them choose right so that they become well rounded adults of the future. The
Principal Mrs. Renu Chaturvedi lauded the efforts of the teachers and children in
putting up the stellar show.

GOPAL GAATHA: ANNUAL PRODUCTION OF CLASSES NURSERY AND PREP

The tiny tots of classes’ Nursery and Prep presented their Annual Day on 8th March,
2019 with great zeal and enthusiasm.The Chief Guest, Prof. B.P. Khandelwal,
blessed our tiny artists.

The event started with traditional prayer sung by our little singers. This was followed
by westernchoir and enactment, wherein, our budding artists performed on “Don’t
Worry About A Thing…”

Our little Krishna’s, Gopi’s and Radha’s presented an enchanting and inspiring life of
Lord Krishna in form of a musical - “Gopal Gaatha”.

It was heartening to see these little children mesmerizing the audience with their
confident performance.

IMAAN KA INAM: ANNUAL PRESENTATION BY CLASSES II AND III

A rainbow of colours unfurled on the stage of the multipurpose auditorium of Delhi
Public School, Greater Noida as the school organised the Annual Function of
classes II and III on 2nd March, 2019.The occasion was graced by a galaxy of
eminent guests, that included the Chief Guest, Shri V. K Shunglu, Chairman DPS
Society, Mrs Madhu Shunglu, Prof B.P Khandelwal, Chairman DPS,Greater Noida
and Mrs Shashi Uban Tripathi an experienced foreign services officer and a former
diplomat.

Shri V.K Shunglu, IAS, Chairman, DPS Society, was felicitated for being honoured
with “Padma Bhushan” this year by the Honourable President, for his tremendous
contribution in Civil Services. Speaking on the occasion, he applauded the efforts of
the students and the faculty for putting up a spectacular show.

Welcoming the guests to the day’s programme, the Principal, Mrs Renu Chaturvedi,
laid emphasis on cultivating moral values amongst our children through cultural
programmes and imparting holistic education, so that the students grow up to be
responsible citizens of our nation.

The programme commenced with lamp lighting followed by a soulful rendition “Tum
Asha Vishwas Hamare” by the school choir to evoke a sense of pride for our
soldiers. The major highlight of the day’s programme was a magnificent dance
drama, “Imaan Ka Inam”, an on stage adaptation of “Ali Baba Chalis Chor” in which
the budding artists of the junior wing won the hearts of one and all with their powerful
display of their innate acting and dancing skills.

NCC:
NCC A AND B CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION FOR GIRLS:
DPS, Gr.Noida Boys Cadets of NCC-40 UP BN Boys NCC Battalion- Sikandrabad
organized NCC A-Certificate Written Examination. 30 cadets of the school appeared in
this examination.

NCC A AND B CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION FOR GIRLS:
The NCC A and B certificate qualifying examinations were held on March 3 and
March 17, 2019 at DPS, Greater Noida, respectively. 34 cadets participated in the
same from DPS Greater Noida.

OTHER EVENTS:
CSDP Award (Finger Maths and Brain Twister) Ceremony was held on February 19,
2019. The students were awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze for their meritorious
performances. All the enrolled students got special awards for their uniqueness for
Module 1 and Dream Awards for Module 2. The occasion was graced by the
Principal, Ms. Renu Chaturvedi and HM’s. In her speech, the Principal congratulated
the students for their excellent performance and appreciated the efforts taken by the
school, AJS Team, parents and students.

INITIATIVES         TOWARDS           COMMITMENT              TO     A    SOCIAL
CAUSE:

The students of Cheshta Shiksha Kendra had their Special Function commemorating
the end of the academic session on March 19, 2019 in the school auditorium.

The Function started with a melodious choir ‘Teri Hai Zameen’ and Everything I do’.
It was followed by a Mime which conveyed the message of religious brotherhood and
patriotism. A peppy dance on ‘Desh Rangeela’ reinforced the strain of Unity in
Diversity. Lastly, a Holi Dance ‘Nand Baba Ke Gaanv Machi Holi’ set in the Holi
mood. The festival spirit was enhanced by applying a chandan ka tika and
distribution of Gujiyas.

Principal admired the children’s talent and blessed them. She encouraged them to
continue working diligently and sincerely so that they could realise their dreams.

A Spectrum of Talent

CBSE SPOT EVALUATION CENTRE:
DPS Greater Noida was made the Nodal center for CBSE spot evaluation for classes
X and XII under the supervision and guidance of Mrs. Renu Chaturvedi, Principal
DPS, Greater Noida. She was also the Nodal Supervisor. The answer scripts of
students of class XII in English Core, Accountancy, Physics and Mathematics and
English Communicative, Science, Mathematics, Hindi Course B and FIT of class X
were evaluated from March 14 to April 19, 2019.

TEACHERS AS RESOURCE PERSONS:
Ms. S. Veena (PGT English), Dr. Vinod Chauhan(TGT Hindi), Mr. Naqeeb Mehdi
(TGT Science), Ms. Deepali Bhargava (PGT Chemistry) and Mr. R.K Keswani (PGT
Commerce) were appointed as Subject Experts for the SCM held at DPS, Jhansi on
March 2, 2019.

Ms. Pooja Chauhan (TGT English), Ms. Madhuri Gupta (PGTHistory), Ms. Upasna
Chandra (PGT Physics) and Ms. Anuradha Sharma (PRT Dance) were appointed as
Resource Persons’ for the SCM held at DPS Bulandshahar on March 9, 2019.

SCHOOL CLUBS
Club activities supplement academics and give students the opportunity to learn
skills which they require in day to day life. Various activities were conducted in the
session 2018-19, by the School Clubs for the students of classes II to VIII. The
students were allowed to choose from a list of activities to hone their skills and learn
under the guidance of Activity Teachers.

Excursions and adventures:

ADVENTURE CAMP TO MUDDY BOOTS:

Students’ journey through an academic session is incomplete without some extra
curricular fun activities. Keeping that in mind, Delhi Public School, Greater Noida
organised a one-day adventure camp in association with Muddy Boots, Greater
Noida at Yamuna Expressway for the students of class IV and V on Wednesday,
March 27 and 28,2019, respectively.
Muddy Boots has a massive open green field, overlooking a lake with ducks passing
by. It’s a combination of nature’s beauty and the thrill of adventure. The day was well
planned with adventure activities, meals as well as DJ. The camp exposed the
campers to a variety of challenging and exciting activities like Hamster Wheel,
Commando Net, Burma Bridge, Tug of War, Wall Climbing, Laser Beam, Magical
Maze, Cross Fire, Dragon Move, Zorbing, Commando Crawl,Rock-Climbing,
Rappelling, Rope-Climbing and many more.

WINDOW TO THE JUNIOR & PRIMARY WING OF THE
SCHOOL
CHARACTER I FIT IN – ACTIVITY FOR CLASS I
‘The Character I Fit in Activity’ was conducted on 11th and 12th March, 2019. The
students of Class I dressed up as various cartoon characters like Doraemon, Ben10,
Batman, Spiderman etc. Alongwith the cartoon characters they also brought into life
characters from fairytales like Cinderella, Beauty, Tooth Fairy etc. Some of them also
chose historical characters like Rani Laxmi Bai, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose etc.
Students enacted and spoke about their chosen character and why they chose to
dress up like them.
