During Remote Learning
   Progress/Interim Reports are issued at the halfway mark of the grading
   period via Plus Portals.

   Report Cards are issued at the end of each grading period via Plus
   Portals.

   Parents can check website for access to the Plus Portals grade book in
   order to monitor daily progress.

   Tutoring will be provided by our Honor Societies and during office hours
   on selected days via Zoom.

Policies

    A pattern of non-attendance is

Attendance Documentation

Ramifications

Returning to School
    Students have two days to make up assignments.

    Students who are externally suspended cannot make up assignments unless
    student participates in an alternative suspension program.

    Parents must complete the Student Absence Note and attach any necessary
    documentation when a student is absent. This can be found on the
    Somerset website under the Parents Tab then click on Attendance.
Tardiness/Early Sign-out
• Tardiness/early sign-outs aredisruptive to the learning environment and can
  have a negative impact on student achievement.

     Parents must complete an online Tardy or Early Sign- Out Form found on the Attendance
     webpage on the Somerset Academy website (Parents Tab) within 30 minutes of being
     late or signing-out early

     Additionally, parent must notify teacher* via

National School Lunch Program
• Somerset/SLAM understands the importance of a proper diet and how eating the right foods gives your brain
nutritional support. Our cafeteria staff will offer healthy meals to our students during Remote Live Instruction.

• Parents can "drive-thru" to the west side of the building and pick up 3 breakfast and 3 lunches between 11:00 -
1:00 and 3:00 - 5:00

• Parents are being asked to bring the student's school ID number for identification purposes when picking up
meals.

• Students who had free or reduced lunch throughout the 2019-2020 school year must re-apply for the
upcoming school year. The free and reduced lunch application can be found on the Somerset and SLAM
websites under News and Announcements.

The following slides pertain especially
to when students return to campus.
Before Care/After Care(Study Hall)
                  • Our mission is to provide a safe,
                    affordable, and quality child-care
                    environment for our children and
                    their families. Monday through
                    Friday. SLAM Palm Beach After School
                    provides after-school care until
                    6:00pm on all days that school is
                    open. There is no Aftercare on days
                    when students are off from school.

                  • Aftercare enrollment is now open and
                    payments can be made online.
                  • Registration fees are included in the
                    1st registration & monthly fee.
Cell Phone Policy
Students may not use cell phones during the school day

Students will turn off their phones and “park” them in each classroom in the cell phone holding
area.

If a student is seen on their phone during the school day without permission the phone will be
confiscated and taken to the front office. For the first offense the student may pick up the phone at
the end of the school day.
The second time a student’s phone is confiscated the phone will be kept overnight and the parent
may pick up the phone at the end of the following school day.

The third time the phone is confiscated it will be kept over two nights.
