INTRODUCTION Welcome from England Hockey On behalf of England Hockey, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all participating nations of the NET Masters World Cups. We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to host the World Masters Hockey (WMH) World Cups by WMH and preparations are going well in the countdown to August 12th 2022, which is fast approaching. We are committed to making the event athlete centred, giving the teams the best possible experience whilst in Nottingham, but hope you will also find time to enjoy your time in this wonderful City. We hope that your preparations go well over the coming months and if you require any assistance at any stage, please do not hesitate to contact us. VENUE INFORMATION Nottingham Hockey Centre Facilities and services on site University Boulevard We are really looking forward to welcoming you to Nottingham Nottingham. All of the pitches are within 60 m of the Club House, which contains 10 changing rooms, a cafeteria NG7 2PS and bar. VENUE INFORMATION Event Health & Safety - Emergency Information Spectators The Event Management Plan contains procedures for a All spectators are welcome at the event, entry is free range of potential incidents. VENUE INFORMATION We are delighted to be welcoming you to the Men’s and Ladies’ Over 35 and Over 40 Masters World Cups in heart of England, Nottingham. With the growth of Master’s Hockey over the past few years, not only in England, but worldwide, it is fantastic PITCH 1 PITCH 3 to be able to host such a prestigious event here at Nottingham Hockey Centre. Nottingham Hockey Centre, which is the home of Beeston Hockey Club, is the premier club facility in Great Britain. The Centre has five full sized hockey pitches and a grandstand on the main pitch, as well as the newly PITCH 2 refurbished ‘Stick & Pitcher’ Bar on the first floor of the clubhouse and Cafeteria on the ground floor. The Centre is within 5 minutes walking distance of the nearest tram stop, which goes into the city centre of Nottingham. For the majority of you travelling from outside of the UK, the hockey centre is just 20 minutes drive from East Midlands Airport, and a short 90 minute ENTRANCE train journey away from London. & EXIT If you’ve never been to Nottingham, it’s famous for quite a few things, not just Robin Hood! A vibrant European city with numerous cafes, restaurants and bars, the city is also known for the Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, the City Ground, Meadow Lane, Ibuprofen, HP Sauce and Castle Rock Brewery which all started in Nottingham – in many ways they’re our local treasures. The Hockey Centre is set in the picturesque grounds of Highfields Park, which was left in trust by Jesse Boot, founder of The Boots Company PLC, for the people of Nottingham for sport and recreation. This legacy has enabled us to develop one of the best sporting corridors in the country including hockey, tennis, football, rugby, cricket, netball, croquet, bowls and beach volleyball! COMPETITION AND TRAINING Match Sheets and Information The tournament will be using Altius as the core system for preparation of Team sheets and match information. WMH will provide teams with further information on how to use this system Match Balls All match balls will be provided. Teams are expected to provide their own training balls. TEAM INFORMATION Changing Rooms We have 10 dedicated changing rooms for the tournament. A schedule has been prepared to allow every team to have 45 mins before the game (upto 30 mins before push back) and 45 mins after the game (from 15 mins after end of game). Your individual team schedule will be shared with you in July. We ask that you respect other teams and try to keep to the times allocated and to leave the changing rooms in a condition that you would wish to find them Laundry Services We have arranged special rates for laundry for all teams at the tournament. A local company will pick up from the Hockey Centre Information Point and return your laundry washed and dried. You will be able to book and pay for your laundry pick up via their web site https://www.bradyslaundryservices.com Costs are £10 for 10Kg (approximately a squad’s playing kit) and £7.50 for every £5Kg (or part) after that Physio Services The tournament has teamed up with The Moballise Physiotherapy Clinic, based in Nottingham. Mobillise will be on site throughout the event and you can pre-book your treatment and sessions via this link https://moballise.com/online-booking/ Packed Lunches at Nottingham Hockey Centre Packed lunches are available to book from the Nottingham Hockey Centre for each day of the event. These should be ordered before August 1st at the following link; https://masters2022.hockey/teams-packed-lunches-order/ The packs will include a sandwich, packet of crisps, piece of fruit, chocolate bar and bottle of water. By car the address is University Boulevard, Nottingham, NG7 2PS The trams run regularly between the City Centre and the Hockey Centre. You will need to use the Hucknall – Toton Lane line and the correct stop is University of Nottingham. You will see the Nottingham Hockey Centre from the tram stop, it is a 2 min walk. SOCIAL & ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES Welcome Reception We are delighted that England Hockey will be hosting a Welcome reception on Thursday August 11th . You will be receiving a separate invite to this event for two representatives from your squad. Please ensure that your Team Managers have received this information The event will start at 7pm and will be held at NHC in our dedicated hospitality space Opening & Closing Ceremonies The tournament will be formally opened on Friday August 12th. The ceremony will take place on Pitch 1 at 3pm at NHC. Squads are expected to be represented to formally open the tournament Following completion of the last final, the tournament will be formally closed in a ceremony hosted by World Masters Hockey and England Hockey. The schedule for streaming will be posted on the website with the link for access Event Logo The event logo in all / any forms / format or colour-way is the property of the organising committee, its partners and sponsors. GENERAL INFORMATION Retail Promotion Evenings We have planned a Retail Promotional Event on the evenings of Friday 19th August and Saturday 20th August. The promotion will run from 6-9pm each evening. Everyone is invited to take advantage of some great offers on top quality equipment and merchandise. Food and drink will also be available while this is taking place, so a great opportunity to catch up with folk while browsing the retail outlets. Official Team Photos Take That Photo will be on site during the event, capturing the official formal photos and portraits of each team and player. General Information Event Merchandising The Hockey Centre is the retail partner for the event and will be offering event merchandise including the official logo. The event specific page will go live at hockeycentre.com on June 10th and all items ordered will be ready to collect at the event.
