Experience with World Championships
• In the past Travemuende Week organized many successful world championships.
• In 2012 we organized the 29er World Championship with more than 215 teams. In 2014 the 420er
World Championships and the Yngling Worlds took place in Travemuende.
• For 2015 we hosted the J22 Worlds and RS Feva Worlds.
• In 2016 the Worlds an Europeans in 6 RS Classes took place in Travemuend
• Travemuende played host to the Melges 24 Worlds in 2002
• We have got very good knowledge and experience with organizing big championships.

Megles 24 Worlds 2019 Budget
• Early Entry fee per boat: 600-850€ (final fee
depends on extra wishes like giveaway,
dinner, bbq, etc)
• Sponsors: existing sponsors of Travemünder
Woche will be leveraged for supporting the
Melges24 Worlds
• Included: all costs for race community and
jury are included in the entry fee per boat,
e.g. rescue boats at the race course,
adequate measurement procedure, opening
and pricegiving ceremony and the reception
on board of the 4-masted squarerigger

• The surrounding area of the habour is currently
under construction. New appartments, hotels
and new habour facilities are built.
• The majority will be finished in 2018. The
completion will be early 2019
• Therefore the new redesigned Priwall Habour is
the perfect setting for the Melges 24 Worlds
during Travemuende Week
• The new buildings provide several apartments Berths for Melges 24 Worlds
and hotel rooms in every size and price
category.
• Several new restaurants will be built and a big
boat hall which for example can be used for
social events
• Hall for measurement and other purposes

During the annual Travemuende
Sailing Week the LYC Team will
present racing periods of 45 to 60
minutes in a special format starting at
about 1700 hours daily after official

The company SAP, technologie support of Travemuende
Week, offers everything to realise sailing. The races on the
SAP media course can be watched online via the
Travemuende Week live center or live in Travemuende via the
SAP Sail Cube at the beach. All races are casted by experts.
The Melges 24 will race one days on the SAP media course

Staff of Travemuende Week
• Travemuende week is spread on the shoulders of around 350 volunteers.
• Principal Race Officer: Brian Schweder, Jury Chairman: Andrus Poksi IJ/Estonia
• Two international jury panels are available for Travemuende Week. Travemuende
Week is arranged and organized by an experienced executive team which mostly
consists of volunteers and some paid executives.
• Professionell press employees (media spokesman of Travemuende Week: Ralf
Abratis)
• Professionell Travemuende Week photographer (Christian Beeck)
• With the THW, German Lifeguard Association, German Red Cross water rescue
service and SEA HELP professionell assistence is provided for rescue and help on
