BEGINNING SEWING $338 FOR SERIES; $125 each level (includes patterns & handouts)
                          Couture Dress
LEVEL 1: Monday-Thursday, July 12-15, 10 am-1 pm
LEVEL 2: Monday-Thursday, July 19-22, 10 am-1 pm
LEVEL 3: Monday-Thursday, July 26-29, 10 am-1 pm
Learn basic stitches, techniques and how to use your machine while making an apron (Level 1),
robe (Level 2) and pjs (Level 3). Step up your skills with each level. Learn to use commercial
patterns, layout and cut fabric.

APPAREL CONSTRUCTION                 $473 FOR SERIES; $166 each level (includes patterns & handouts)
LEVEL 1: Monday-Thursday, July 12-15, 6-9 pm
LEVEL 2: Monday-Thursday, July 19-22, 6-9 pm
LEVEL 3: Monday-Thursday, July 26-29, 6-9 pm
Upgrade your skills. Start making clothes. Make an A-line skirt or man’s Henley shirt with a
zipper (Level 1), beach pants (Level 2) and day dress or camp shirt (Level 3). Make garments fit.
Unlock the secrets of interfacing. Sew buttons, buttonholes.

ACTIVEWEAR $249 or $473 with Knits (includes patterns)
Fridays, May 28-July 2, 10 am-1pm OR 6-9 pm
Sew and fit high-tech stretchy fabric to make a complete ensemble, ready for action. Start with
hoodies. Move on to yoga pants or leggings. Finish with a sports bra or top.

SWIMWEAR              $249 (includes patterns)
Monday-Thursday, July 26-29, 2-5 pm
Make a bikini, one-piece and two-piece swimsuit. Learn all the techniques plus how to work with
4-way stretch.

         EMBROIDERY & BEADING ALA LESAGE                                  $149 each; $298 series.
                        Beginning (basic stitches): Saturday, July 17, 10 am-1pm
                    Intermediate (beads & sequins): Saturday, July 24, 10 am-1 pm
   Cover the process of creating chain stitch lace with a tambour needle. With the same needle,
  practice embroidery with delicate beads and sequins. Incorporate basic embroidery techniques.
             Learn the techniques necessary to create your own haute couture details.

                                      LACE SHAPING                   $149.
                                    Saturday, July 31, 10 am-1 pm.
  Use couture techniques while attaching lace seamlessly to a base garment. Learn how to shape
  lace over seams, darts and around edges. Build your dictionary of laces from Alencon to Venise.

INDUSTRIAL MACHINE SEWING                      $289. Includes kit.
6 sessions: Monday-Thursday; July 19-22, 26-27; 6-9 pm
Learn how to control these fast machines then come back and use them for your projects.

PANTS & JEANS $249 each or $473 with JACKETS.                 Includes pattern & handouts.
Tuesday, May 25-June 29, 10 am-1 pm & 6-9 pm
Make a pair of pants or jeans that will flatter your figure! Choose from one of five styles
including overalls and jumpsuits. Learn all about fitting pants to you. Stitch four different kinds of
seams, two kinds of zippers and four kinds of pockets. Mens’ pants too!

OUTERWEAR              $249. Includes patterns & practice fabrics
Tuesdays, May 25-June 29, 6-9 pm.
Create a garment that works no matter what the weather throws at you, whether you are walking
your dog in the rain, hiking in the woods, visiting the coast or snowboarding in the mountains.
Make a parka, rain jacket, car coat or trench coat.

OVERALLS & JUMPSUITS                      $249. Includes pattern.
6 sessions: Monday-Thursday; July 12-15, 19-20, 2-5 pm
Choose from five styles plus overalls. Get the right fit and techniques for this trendy and useful
garment. Make it from denim, satin, cotton or organics.

PATTERNMAKING CLASSES
ADVANCED PATTERN & CONSTRUCTION                                   $60/3 hrs or $240/month
Saturdays, June 5-July 31, 10 am-1 pm
Create your collection. Prerequisite: Pattern 3 &4; Draping

PATTERN DESIGN (Pattern 3)        $349 (includes pattern paper)
Tuesdays, May 25-June 29, 10 am-1 pm OR 6-9 pm
Bring in a picture or a sketch and make a pattern for that garment — just like the pros do.

PATTERN GRADING & MARKING $349 (includes pattern paper)
Saturdays, June 5-July 17, 2-5 pm
Use slopers to learn the basic principles of changing pattern sizes. Learn the inside secrets of
increasing and decreasing sizes and government standards for grade rules.

BRA PATTERN & CONSTRUCTION                    $349
8 sessions: Monday-Thursday, July 12-15 & 19-22, 10 am-1 pm
Uncover the mysteries of bra making. Learn about different types of bras, fabric & notions, fit,
style lines and construction methods. Learn to draft and sew your own custom sized bra. Get the
fit you want and create the styles you love. Prerequisites: Pattern Intro, Lingerie Intimates

PANTY PATTERN & CONSTRUCTION                      $269
4 sessions: Monday-Thursday, July 26-29, 10 am-1 pm
Finally, panties that fit and flatter! Learn how to properly draft and sew a custom panty to flatter
any body size and shape. Sew several types of panties with tricot, lace and stretch. End with
your own personal design, pattern & panty. Prerequisites: Pattern Intro, Lingerie Intimates

KNOCK IT OFF         $249
Monday-Thursday, July 12-15, 6-9 pm
Bring in your favorite garment. Make a paper pattern and learn how to make new versions.

MAKE YOUR BODY DOUBLE                  $249
Monday-Thursday, July 12-15, 2-5 pm
Bring your professional dress form and alter it to fit you the way the pros do. Not messy. Just
fun. Learn the tricks and materials from Broadway theater expert, Laura Shirk Charles.

DESIGN CLASSES
OVERSEAS PRODUCTION [ONLINE] $269
Wednesdays, May 26-June 30, 6-9 pm
Sooner or later, all apparel companies look into manufacturing some or all of their products outside of the
United States. But if you're going to do it, better know how to do it right.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN [ONLINE] $269
Mondays, May 24-July 5, 6-9 pm
Analyze aspects of environmental apparel design. Find out how to use it and how to decide
whether it is a business strategy or a fad. See how companies incorporate it in designs through
zero waste and considered waste, cyclability. Find ways to reduce energy, water and chemicals
and overall consumer consumption in your designs.

TEXTILE DESIGN with TRICIA LANGMAN

        Tricia Langman, Biomimicry expert, designer for Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Celine Dion, Pendleton, Spoogi and many others.

HAND PAINTING AND DYEING                                      $249 (+kit)
Saturday-Sunday, July 17-18, 9:30 am-3:30 pm
Use dyeing techniques of the past to create scarfs and fabrics. Learn tie-dye and hand painting
techniques, shibori & batik.

FABRIC PRINTING                   $249 (+ kit)
Saturday-Sunday, July 24-25, 9:30 am-3:30 pm
Produce fabric samples, a length of fabric and create surface designs suitable for garments or
home decor. Learn screen-printing, stenciling and devoré, Japanese katazome printing, block and
mono printing techniques.

SUSTAINABLE TEXTILES                         $249 (+ kit)
Saturday-Sunday, July 31-Aug 1, 9:30 am-3:30 pm
Make leather from mushrooms and seaweed. Use fibers to weave, felt and color with natural plant dyes.
