However, little by little we are learning to live with this virus and to generate the conditions that reduce the impact of others that may arise and call into question our customs again. Based on these advances, I believe that we are in a position to dust off those motorcycles and go out to seek new adventures on 2 wheels in December to go to watch the 2020 total solar eclipse in the Araucanía area, in the South of Chile. This trip, organized in a very exceptional way, is planned to travel 12 days through the beautiful landscapes of Chile and Argentina and share with a group of people united by the same passion. At the same time, we will see the total eclipse sharing a typical lamb barbecue. We will visit Bariloche, the beautiful Route of the 7 Lakes and San Martín de los Andes. You can say that you crossed the Andes mountain range not just once, but twice by motorcycle.
Itinerário
1 - Santiago - Santa Cruz - 180
The day starts at 10:00 am near the Los Domínicos metro station, in Las
Condes, Santiago. We will prepare the motorcycles and the documentation for
the trip. We will travel along the country's main highway, Ruta 5, heading
south and take a detour towards the coast. In a couple of hours we will be in
Santa Cruz.
In Santa Cruz we will visit a vineyard, have a wine tasting and learn about the
production process of this noble product.
2 - Santa Cruz - Cobquecura - 300
After breakfast, we take the motorcycles and start the route to reach the
seashore. A few kilometers from Santa Cruz, we will arrive in Lolol at the
Automobile Museum with a wide collection of cars and motorcycles.
From the coast we will head south through the main cities such as Pichilemu
and Constitución to Cobquecura, a town at the coastal area that was heavily
affected by the February 2010 earthquake.
3 - Cobquecura - Panguipulli - 530
A complete day's journey from the coast of our country to the foothills. It will
be one of the most demanding days in terms of driving abilities.
4 - Panguipulli - Panguipulli - 0
Free day in the mountain town of Panguipulli.
It is possible to go to the thermal baths, towns near the lake or practice sport
fishing in the area. We will be close to natural reserves and attractions such
as the Saltos de Huilo Huilo (waterfalls), Puerto Fuy or Liquiñe.
5 - Panguipulli - Panguipulli - 0
The eclipse day. We will share a traditional roast lamb and enjoy the Cabañas
Huenehue dependencies, immersed in the dense mountain forest, with areas
for meditation, rest and fishing.
6 - Panguipulli - Entre Lagos - 180
Short route to get to Entre Lagos, a town on the shores of Lake Puyehue.
We can take advantage of the day visiting nearby places such as the Puyehue
Hot Springs or the Rupanco Lake.7 - Entre Lagos - Bariloche - 200 We´ll cross the mountain range towards Argentina passing through beautiful landscapes. Although the height is not great (1300 meters above sea level), the mountain range roads will demand all the attention of the rider. 8 - Bariloche - Bariloche - 0 Free day in Bariloche, a beautiful Argentine city with multiple attractions such as Otto hill, Catedral hill, Lake Nahuelhuapi and its beautiful Historic Center. 9 - Bariloche - San Martín de Los Andes - 190 We will travel the beautiful 7 Lakes Route, one of the most beautiful routes in America. A path of mountains and hidden lakes with areas to take spectacular photographs. 10 - San Martín de Los Andes - Panguipulli - 265 A scenic mountain route that will force us to transfer motorcycles by barge on Neltume Lake. Unique landscapes and gravel roads that will make this one of the most unforgettable days of this trip. 11 - Panguipulli - Chillán - 425 Route day to get closer to Santiago. From Panguipulli it will take us 40 minutes to get to Route 5 to head north.
12 - Chillán - Santiago - 410 Travel day on Route 5 to get to Santiago and finish this adventure.
