Together We PeliCAN!
Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year,
I would first like to introduce myself as Alice Hogan, the MPE PTO President for
this school year. This year is definitely going to be a unique one, but I would like to
personally invite parents, grandparents and guardians to join our PTO. Any part that
you can play will benefit your child and their school.
You are probably wondering why joining PTO would be something to consider. The
first thing I would like to explain is exactly what we do as a PTO. Our biggest job is
supporting the school. Although we are not able to have events and activities at this
time, we raise money through our membership and uniform sales. The money we raise
goes directly back into the school. We provide school supplies for kindergarten, 1st and
2nd grade students at the beginning of each school year. We also help fund Student
Appreciation Week and other student appreciation activities throughout the school year.
In the past, we have purchased new rugs for each class, promethean boards, outdoor
playground equipment and higher level books. Just to name a few!
Another responsibility of our PTO is to help gather volunteers for numerous
school programs and events. For the time being, we will pivot from our duties of
gathering volunteers, but please note, once restrictions are lifted we will get right back
to our wonderful volunteers!
We strive to make a difference in the school and would love for you to join us!
Here are a few details to let you know about:
• When we ask you to join PTO, we are asking you only to make a $5.00 donation
per person to help support some of the exciting activities we have planned for
the school year. Since we are a PTO, the full amount of your membership fee
goes to the school.
• If you are interested in receiving updates from our PTO, please include your
email address on the form.
• We will continue to collect UPCs for the following programs: Box Tops for
Education and Community Coffee. Please see more information in this welcome
packet for clipping details. This is an EASY way you can help us raise money for
our school.
• I would like to introduce our 2020-2021 PTO Board, a group of dedicated people
who work together to raise money, keep you informed about our school and
children.

MPE PTO is a partnership between parents, teachers, faculty and school
administration.
All monies raised through PTO, including your annual $5 membership fee, go directly
back into YOUR school to help enhance your child(ren)’s educational needs.
Our goal is to make our children’s school a better place by purchasing classroom
materials and technology, organizing community-building and supporting our amazing
teachers and staff at MPE.
Help the PTO send our kids to the highest levels of success by completing the form

Welcome Back! We hope you had a wonderful summer and are ready to get back to a sense of normalcy. As the school year begins, we would like to remind our parents and guardians of one of the many ways to contribute to your child’s education and school. By participating in Box Tops for Education to Earn Cash for Our School and the Community Coffee Cash for Schools Rewards Program you are directly using the money you’ve spent on everyday purchases to impact our school. Box Tops can be submitted through the mobile app and the traditional clipping of the Box Top on your package. To submit Box Tops virtually, download the Box Tops for Education App from your smart phone’s App Store. From there you will need to create an account, scan your receipt and begin earning cash for our school. If you download the mobile app, you will not be required to clip or send Box Tops labels to school. If you chose the traditional option, nothing changes. You will continue to clip the Box Top off of each package and send it to the school. Box Tops can be turned in in an envelope, zip lock bag or attached to the Box Tops for Education handout. Similar to Box Tops, with each purchase of Community Coffee you can earn cash for our school. The only thing you need to do is save the Proof of Purchase code on the packaging. These can be submitted in an envelope, zip lock bag or attached to the Community Coffee Cash for Schools handout. Thank you for your continued support!
