Dear District 87 Families,

Earlier this year, District 87 offered families with students in grades PK-5 the option
to return to school in-person through a hybrid model, or to continue full remote
learning from home.

As the semester has progressed, we understand that some students would benefit
from switching to a different learning model for the spring semester.

A survey will be available the morning of January 4 until 4:30 pm January
7 on Skyward Parent Access for PK-5 families to make a selection to change
their student’s learning model for the spring semester. All changes will take effect
on January 19.

Things to know:

     ● This decision is for the entire second semester, with in-person learning
beginning the week of January 18. Students will participate in full remote
         learning January 5-15. Reminder — January 4 and 18 are non-attendance
         days for students.
     ● This decision may result in a student changing teachers — especially those
who are changing from remote to in-person instruction.
     ● If no selection is made in Skyward by the deadline, students will continue
         in their current learning model.

If you have any questions about this upcoming survey, please email
connect@district87.org, contact your building principal, or visit our website for
details at www.district87.org/covid.

Sincerely,

Dr. Barry Reilly
District 87 Superintendent

Sinceramente,
Dr. Barry Reilly
