                                    Coordinated and effective market
One objective of MSTyr15 is to      surveillance;
create a similar level of           Labelling of tyres;

participating authorities. Examination of technical documentation.

Novelty in MSTyr15

 Strong support from stakeholder organisation: ETRMA and ITMA;

 Implementing and successfully carrying out a coordinated market
  surveillance programme across the EU in respect of the vehicle tyres
  Regulation (EC) No. 1222/2009, an area where the relevant authorities
  are not routinely taking actions, and especially not in a harmonised or
  coordinated way.

 Tablets pre-loaded with an application;

 Training of the market surveillance inspectors.
Tablets for inspectors

 Each MSA received two tablets to be used
  during on-site inspections or during
  evaluations of technical documentation;
 Data collected was synchronized with a
  customized database;
 Information immediately available in all
  participating countries;
 Avoiding double sampling.
What did we achieve?

         Tyre labelling          Testing of tyres

     • More than 10.000       • To date 128 tyre
       tyres inspected;         models have been
     • In more than 500 tested for both Wet
       cases, the label was Grip and Rolling
       not compliant or         Resistance;
       not visible or • First analysis shows
       available.               that more than 85%
                                are OK.
Energy efficiency
        in transport

MSTyr15 intends to reduce energy use and
emissions in the transport sector by
                                                              118g
verifying the rates of compliance with the CO2/km
                                                                      95g
                                                                      CO2
regulatory requirements.                                              /km

The energy consumption of the transport
sector has been decreasing quite rapidly in
just over two decades and MSTyr15 action is - 36%
expected to contribute to the EU emission
reduction targets for 2021.                   1995           2016     2021
