ROUTEBURN TRACK­

TE WHARA TRACK

stretches from Cape Brett in the north to Cape Rodney in the
south, with islands scattered far and wide across the blue
horizon.
Named after the wife of a rangatira (chief), Te Whara is of
major significance to the local iwi (tribe) who co-operate
with DOC, the Bream Head Conservation Trust and other
community members to restore this special headland. Their
