Dear Parent and Student,
Welcome to the Nursing Assisting program here at TECH SOUTH. Congratulations on a
successful school year 2019-2020. We are looking forward to you coming to Nursing Assisting in the fall
of 2020. Attached is the Nursing Assisting Handbook with a lot of information about the course, uniform,
skills, and certification test at the end of the year. Please find 4 pages of physical forms that needs to
be filled out by your pediatrician for the first day of school. Each student is required to have updated
immunizations, fall influenza immunization and a PPD placement for screening TB. These requirements
are standard in any health care facility. We will be starting our clinical rotations in early November.
Our students wear a� blue scrub top with white pants, white sneakers and white socks. You can
find these items online, Walmart or at a uniform store. A complement workbook is required and will
cost around 27 dollars which we will collect money for in the fall.
Please Note:
1) Students that meet attendance and grade requirements can take the New York State Prometric
Nursing Home Nurse Aid Certification exam.
2) This certification exam costs 115 dollars, which is paid for bv the students.
3) If your student has an IEP there is an ADA Accommodations Packet that would need to be filled
out by your homeschool to ensure required accommodations are in place.
4) If the student is eligible for free lunch please send documentation from your home school on the
first day of school.
5) Please be aware that students need to have a social security card and a picture ID with a
signature to be able to take the certification exam at the end of the year. This can be a Motor
vehicle permit or license, or a valid passport.

Estimado Estudiante/Padre/Tutor,
Bienvenido al programa de "Auxiliar de Enfermerfa" en Tech South. Felicitaciones por un afio
escolar exitoso en 2019-2020. Le adjuntamos el manual de auxiliar de enfermerfa que tiene mucha
informaci6n sobre el curso, el uniforme, las habi Iidades, y el examen de certificaci6n. Tambien hay 4
paginas de formularios que su medico tiene que llenar antes del primer dfa del afio escolar. Cada
estudiante en el programa tiene que tener vacunaci6n actualizada, vacuna contra la gripe para este
otofio, y una prueba de PPD para la tuberculosis. Estos requisites son practica habitual en la profesi6n
del cuidado de salud. Comenzaremos nuestras rotaciones clfnicas en el principio de noviembre. Nuestro
uniforme es una camisa medica de color azul marine y pantalones blancos. Puede comprar estos
artfculos en linea, en Walmart, o en una tienda de uniformes. Un cuaderno de ejercicios suplementario
es necesario tambien, y cuesta $25.00. Recopilaremos el dinero para el cuaderno en el otofio.
Les informamos que:
1. Los estudiantes que cumplan con los requisites de notas y asistencia pueden tomar el examen
de/ estado de Nueva York "Prometric Nursing Home Nurse Aid Certification" al final del afio
escolar.
2. Este examen de certificaci6n cuesta $115.00, pagado por los estudiantes.
3. Si su estudiante tiene un Plan lndividualizado de Educaci6n (IEP), hay un paquete de
acomodaci6n. La escuela secundaria del estudiante tendria que llenar una solicitud para que el
estudiante recibirfa las acomodaciones.
4. Si su estudiante es elegible para almuerzo gratuito, por favor nos mandela documentaci6n de su
escue/a secundaria el primer dia del afio escolar.
5. Los estudiantes tienen que tener una tarjeta de seguridad social y una tarjeta de identificaci6n
con una foto para tomar el examen de certificaci6n. La tarjeta de identificaci6n puede ser un
permiso o licencia de conducir, o un pasaporte valido.
