NOTES FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
1. Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I PRAISE YOU for your pious commitment and dedication to God and God’s
Church.
I THANK YOU for all your help, cooperation, love and support.
I PRAY FOR YOU and all those, that are dear and near to your hearts.
I ENCOURAGE YOU to continue on this road to holiness and salvation, leaving
a nice legacy to the future generations.
WELCOME AND GOD BLESS YOU.
2. Since March 15th 2020 our personal lives changed a lot, and our Parish lives
changed as well, because of the Corona-virus Pandemic (COVID-19), and “stay-
at-home” government guidelines. Since June 8, 2010 we are allowed now to have
our church services with 1/3 of the building capacity – maximum. We have to
follow the government guidelines, keep the proper distance, wash hands, wear
masks etc. Stay healthy and safe.
3. IN MEMORIAM:
- Rev. Fr. Walter (Vladimir) Kostiuk passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020
at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon at the age of 89 years. He was born
on June 21, 1930 in Alvena, Saskatchewan. He served many parishes in
Saskatchewan, some of which were Hudson Bay, Humboldt, Melfort, Moose
Jaw, Nipawin, Preeceville, Regina, Saskatoon, Swift Current… He rests at the
Priests Section of Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon.
- Monsignor Rudolph Luzney died in Saskatoon on Friday, June 19, 2010. He
was 90 years old. He served many parishes in Saskatchewan: Biggar, Melville,
Saskatoon, Regina … He was Eparchial Administrator of the Eparchy following
the death of Bishop Andrew Roborecki and again after the transfer of Bishop
Cornelius Pasichny to Toronto, Ontario. He rests at the Priests Section of
Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon.
- Rev. Fr. Leonard Ratushniak died on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Holy
Family Home in Winnipeg. He was 78 years old. He served many Ukrainian
Catholic Parishes in Canada and the United States. He rests at the
Redemptorists plot in the Yorkton City Cemetery.

because of the Coronavirus or any other reason.
7. Invite more people to our churches (our neighbors, young people and old,
healthy and sick), offer them a ride to church etc. Personal invitation means a
lot. Invite at least one person a month to our church service.

22. Ideas for our cemeteries:
- install a sign with the cemetery name on it;
- for the records - make a cemetery map, that includes its boundaries and graves
placement;
- have some cemetery rules, by-laws;
- make a list of the people, who have some family members at the cemetery
(these people might help the cemetery financially now or in the future);- take care of the monuments, crosses, grass, gate, fence…
- Be in contact with your parish council, parishioners, priest…
- Pray for the deceased.
